Figure this is going to be a worthwhile thread, because Mikky, Jags and Yak will probably play a few games.

Anyways the Yak played his first game in awhile

Scored within a minute against Burnley. He then set up Gosling for the 2nd. American Cody Arnoux scored the 3rd with a header after replacing Yakubu on 70 minutes. Good start for the rezzies.

The team:

Turner
Mustafi
Barnett
Wallace
Duffy
McCarten
Gosling
Akpan
Agard
Yakubu
Ba xter

Subs:

Roberts
Arnoux
Peterlin
Forshaw
Codling

Great to see the Yak is back, we have missed that smile!!

He is probably still a few weeks away from the first team - though I have now heard he is travelling with the squad to Sigma!!

If we are 3-0 with ten mins left, why not give him a run out??

Will be interesting to see how Arnoux and Peterlin develop in our reserves. Think Arnoux can develop into somewhat of a player, although maybe not at Everton.

Good reserve team that I think.

Turner, Gosling, Yakubu and Baxter are the only names I recognise though. :)

Reserves lost again 2-0 this week to Hull. Vaughan saw action for us.

George Boateng, Bernard Mendy and Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink all played for Hull.

I have been following the two Yanks who have been getting playing time with the reserves but other than the limited info I can get off the website does anyone else have any more additional information? How they have been playing? Do they have a chance of extending their contracts? Would either be loaned in the winter?

Dumb question, I guess.

But who are the Yanks on the reserves?

(I recall Everton signing some youngster from California(?) but have no clue about the other one)

Anton Peterlin- He went to California Polytechnic State University but it was his time playing with the Venture County Fusion of the USL Premier Development League that lead to his 10 trial at Everton. I forget the coaches name at Venture but he has some sort of connection with Everton and help set up the 10 day trial. He was signed to a one year contract.

Cody Arnoux- Played at Wake Forest University where he had 32 goals and 16 assist in 2 years. He played PDL ball for the Carolina Dynamo in the summers. He also had a trial with Everton where he impressed enough to get a one year contract. He was projected to be a top 5 draft pick in MLS and had been approached my MLS before he left for England about potentially skipping his senior year to enter the draft.

Thanks for all the information.

If a player on the reserves does well, is being loaned out to a League One or League Two team the next likely step?

The reserve side won on Tuesday against Wigan by the score of 5-2. Anton Peterlin was in the starting line up while Cody Arnoux came off the bench.

I don't think Peterlin if given the chance would play for the States, as he has always prefered Denmark.

I heard that else where also. I guess until he is capped by Denmark we can follow/call him a Yank Abroad.

Just wondering.

Would Peterlin have a better chance of become a regular starter if he played for the United States? Or would he have a better chance if he played for Denmark.

Not too many years ago, I would have said he'd have a better chance of becoming a regular for the United States.

But nowadays, there might not be too much of a difference between the strength of the U.S. Men's National Team and the strength of a good European national team.
