So we're playing away in the Andruv Stadium in the Czech Republic and have a 4-0 lead. All things considered, the scoreline flatters us a bit, Rodwell and Saha both had great games, but Sigma were by no means terrible. I'm still not completely confident this tie is over yet, but 1 goal for us there should seal it. New boy Bilyaletdinov is ineligible for this match just in case people didn't know.

Why? He's not cup tied for the Europa is he? Or just not registered until the groups?

The deadline to submit eligible players has passed. Hopefully we can make it past the group stage and get him playing in there.
As for the game. Although Sigma is a good side, I can't see them getting 4 without us getting at least 1.

not registered in time.
i am not going in counting my unhatched ducklings, but as said... we get 1 goal and they need to win 6-1 a tie of 5-1 and we go through with away goal. makes me real nervous when something is "a sure thing" underdogs have a habit of biting ppl in the arse ;)
COYB!!!

And our defense is shaky at the moment. I'll be nervous about this one until half time. If we can keep it scoreless until the half, then I'll feel a lot more comfortable. But we saw how quickly goals can go in the net in the Arsenal game. I know Sigma is not Arsenal. But if they score 1 goal early, the bad memories can come back quickly. A second and then we could start to panic.

Yeah our defence is still shaky, I don't trust us to keep a clean sheet! However we are good enough to get one goal, and that should be enough to seal it, they tired badly at the end of the first leg so as long as well see off the first half hour we should be ok.
I hope...........

Yak is on the bench :) good for him. i'm glad to see him back, injuries in sports are just really depressing - no one should have their career ended that way IMO.

Yobo allows the ball to run past him from a pass (from Neville/Baines) a Sigma player follows up, breaks through on goal & is brought down by a tackle from Hibbert.
Referee shows Hibbert the red card as he's the last man*, resultant free kick on the edge of the area strikes the bar. Commentators not sure if Howard got a touch on it.
*Hibbert may have got the ball.

This referee is a prick. He sends Hibbert off straight red for winning the ball. He then only books Onefrej for scything down Osman, and hands Gosling a yellow for a light shirtpull. How is that fair? Chopping someone 2 seconds after the ball is gone is equiv. to a shirtpull?

I'm not able to see this game or the one last week. But from accounts I've read, we got the better of the referee decisions last week. Now we are not. I guess that's fair, and to be expected.
Every minute that goes by and the score remains 0-0, the better I feel.
Keep the updates coming!
