Any idea why Sportsnet isn't showing the game?

Unfortunately Sportsnet will not be showing the game. They made every effort possible to show the game, but it just didn't work out. I have no idea what went wrong? Perhaps they couldn't get the rights to the game from BBC2?

Anyways, the game will be on BBC Radio Wales tomorrow morning. I suppose it is better then nothing. :(

Onstad will start in goal for Canada tomorrow.

In my opinion, Onstad has yet to prove himself at the international level. However, at this point I would rather see Onstad in goal then Hirschfeld. Lars just hasn't had enough training or game practice over the few months. If Lars doesn't find a club soon, I wouldn't be surprised to see Frank Yallop look elsewhere for another goalie.

The goalie position is one of the weak links on this current Canadian squad. We were spoiled for so long with Craig Forrest in goal.

The game will be live on BBC Wales for anyone who may want to follow it...

I believe the game starts just past 9:30am EST.

Canadian line-up

Onstad in goal... Watson, De Vos, Jazic and Imhoff in the back... Hume, Hutchinson, De Guzman, and Brennan in the midfield and Radzinski, De Rosario up front.

This midfield has to be the strongest in years.

18 minutes gone... still 0-0

Canada does well to take the crowd out of the game. Wales hit the post a few minutes back. De Rosario had a good chance in the box, but hit the ball wide.

1-0 Wales off of a header. Paul Parry scores his first international goal.

20 minutes in...

De Rosario making a good impression on the BBC announcers. They said he was lively, and quick.

Watson makes a great save off of a Giggs free kick.

End of 1st half...

Wales 1 Canada 0

Wales took the ball to Canada for most of the half. The only real chances Canada had were when the Welsh defence or keeper made sloppy plays.

From what I was listening to, Wales seems to be controlling the flow of the game. I wonder if Yallop is going to make any subs in the second half. I hope Canada can pull of a draw at least.

I wouldn't mind McKenna coming on for Watson. It would also be nice to see Occean come on up front at some point in the second half.

I too would also love to see Canada battle back for at least a draw.

Paul Peschisolio came on for Brennan and Marc Bircham came on for Hutchinson. So now Canada is playing three up front... three in the middle and four in the back.

52nd minute

1-0 Wales

Canada starting to put on a little pressure. They actually managed to get a few corner kicks.

Hume took a nice free kick from 25 yards out, but nothing came of it.

Wales putting on pressure now... with three corner kicks in a row.

69 minutes into the game...

Canadian sub... McKenna on up front

It could have been worse, but I will take 1-0. We have to start winning these games though in the future.

He's the key to Canada's chances of qualification.

Not a bad result given the fact that it was Wales at home and Giggs and Bellamy were playing. I agree it could have been worse, Bellamy had a few near misses. I think after Canada starts playing more games together, they'll start to gel.
