Well traditionally most players play at the university level and are drafted by the MLS, but im pretty sure the teams also have open tryouts, but you'd have to be amazing to make the team at open tryouts...

What do you mean by club? Are you talking about professional soccer?

Well professional players usuall get drafted after college or they get picked up from amteur leagues like the A-league or PDL and there are also try-outs.
For Club soccer, youth, competitive, or whatever you want to call it, you go to a try-out.

this is what i have heard from european coaches that also coach here: ( i will probably start a big argument by saying this) they told me that american youths are actually superior to European youths skillwise, but the Europeans have a much greater will to win and work harder in the game. A lot of you europeans are going to disagree but while i am not saying we are better than you, i am saying that the gap that there used to be is a lot smaller or gone. Besides wanting it is 90% of the game.

Most states have a state association and also regional ones. For an example, check out www.westmichigansoccer.com, it has almost everything you need to know about soccer in our area. Remember Google is your friend! You will at least be able to find associations and phone numbers to get you started. Good luck and have fun!
I'm seeing more kids picking club over school play. The kids that are passionate about the game will be the ones with the ball on their feet all hrs of the day ;). My adult coed league starts next week....yikes, I hope these olds bones can still make it!

You can't even really apply the street moves on the pitch. I think speed and touch are a lot better than being able to do all those flashy moves.

Well if you could do those street moves, then that means that you have a great touch.

Because Dutch is more generally acknowledged in the world than the American if it comes to soccer...

"Your" should be "You're", as in the contraction "You are", not second person ownership.
