Marcelo Araujo is part of the new broadcasting group for argentine footie TV.
Interesting radio interview with Araujo (http://www.clarin.com/diario/2009/08/20/um/m-01982185.htm)
They are keeping the int'l rights as they were before!!!

So the rumours were true. Note that while for the first matchday all the matches will go on Canal 7 that may not be the case later on(Likely Canal 9 joining the mix). Remember that Canal 7 has a live stream available on its homepage(though the quality is so-so). This is the first time since all the matches are broadcasted that they'll be on 10 different timeslots. Also notice the casuality that the first match involves Gimnasia at their stadium, the club the preisdent supports.
Here's the fixture for the first matchday(time of Buenos Aires.
Friday 21/8/2009
-Gimnasia LP vs. CD Godoy Cruz, 7:00pm.
-CA Independiente vs. CA Newell's Old Boys, 9:00pm
Saturday 22/8/2009
-CA San Lorenzo vs. Atlético Tucumán, 2:00pm.
-CA Chacarita Juniors vs. CA Tigre, 4:00pm. - Classic.
-Arsenal FC vs. Estudiantes LP, 6:00pm.
-CA Rosario Central vs. Racing Club, 8:00pm.
Sunday 23/8/2009
-CA Huracán vs. CA Lanús, 2:00pm.
-CA Boca Juniors vs. AA Argentinos Juniors, 4:00pm.
-CA Banfield vs. CA River Plate, 6:00pm.
-CA Colón vs. CA Vélez Sarsfield, 8:00pm.

Just checked livesoccertv.com and it didn't show anything for FSE on Sunday. Is that match gone now?? No more "Clasico Domingo"?

Well, TyC will only broadcast internatioanlly the games that they produce: Ascenso.
So back to the late 90s ... 1 argentine game thru Fox Sports Español, the Clasico del Domingo ... while the rest of latinamerica will get the Clasico del Domingo plus another game (normally those 2 games are Boca & River).
This is BS! Wonder what international signal will get the rest of the 8-9 games out ... at least some of them. :o

Those games have got to be worth some money in the US market, so I expect that they'll sell them to somebody and will be broadcast. The question is when. It might take time to find the right partner and complete negotiations. But, when it happens I'm sure we'll find out soon enough.
Oh well, at least it's good to know that El Clasico del Domingo is confirmed.
I also hope we get Futbol de Primera back, or whatever it is that replaces it. I appreciate Fox Sport Noticias, but it doesn't give us enough domestic league highlights.

They are showing Independiente v Newells live on TyC! :D
They are using their own TyC commentators for the int'l feed!
The feed on justintv has different commentators.

San Lorenzo's game is on right now on TyC. It is with the narrators from TyC.
The only game of the first 3 that wasn't broadcasted was the GELP v Godoy Cruz. I thought that they might give it on delay last nite, but they didn't ... they showed an Ascenso game on delay.
It seems that we will get most of the games. But it is a shot in the air for now to know which ones.
Last nite, they were mentioning that they would have Estudio Futbol Sunday from 7-10 pm BsAs time ... that is 6-9 pm EST. But that overlaps with the last game on Sunday the Colon v Velez (the "visagra" game for Velez last season) which goes from 7-9 pm EST. I don't know if we will get the Estudio Futbol feed or the game.

TyC hasn't broadcasted live the Tigre vs Chacarita. Instead car racing.
At 5 pm EST is Arsenal v Estudiantes. will they be so pist as to not broadcast Grondona's team?

Yes, TyC is broadcasting ascenso at 5 pm EST.
But they will show the Central v Racing game at 7 pm EST, according to their programming guide for the international feed. This could mean that they finally have the programming guide correct and updated.

In Argentina all the matches were aired on Canal 7, though 8 of them were in duplex with either América TV or Canal 9. The two that were aired only in Canal 7 were Gimnasia-Godoy Cruz and Chacarita-Tigre. Arsenal-Estudiantes and Banfield-River went also on Canal 9 the odd thing is that whie Banfield-River had the same commentators(like the ones in duplex with América) Estudiantes-Arsenal was the only one that didn't do so, weird. Also the majority of the matches had a guest analysts, Gustavo Barros Schellotto was guest for Gimnasia-Godoy Cruz, Bertoni was the guest for Independiente-Newell's, J.J. López was the guest for San Lorenzo-Tucumán, Pachame was the guest for Arsenal-Estudiantes, don't remember who was the guest for Central-Racing, Pogani was the guest for Huracán-Lanús, Benitez was the guest for Boca-Argentinos and Alonso for Banfield-River. As it was believed Araujo's partner was Julio Ricardo, while Apo also returned to TV matches.
Also in Argentina, Estudio Fútbol and 90 Minutos de Fútbol's sunday program overlapped with the last part of Banfield-River and most of Colón-Vélez. Fútbol de Primera without the exclusivity for showing the goals first pretty much lost its grace and now they just comment on the highlights tape they don't even have commentaries for them.

The lame thing of the int'l broadcast is that the commentators are in the TyC studios! not at the game. This lead to mistakes in naming the players and obviously, no field commentators either. It kinda sucked.
What is weird is that for the Latinamerica broadcast, River's game was not shown by Fox Sports, as it was announced in their programming grid and what was the norm. If the int'l contracts were kept, it is odd that they stopped broadcasting the 2nd game (they did show Boca v Argentinos live). Instead Fox Sports Cono Sur showed the F-1 race (a repeat of this morning)
TyC in latinamerica did not broadcast the River game either. They showed a re-run of the Ascenso show. But in the US it was shown thru TyC with their own commentators (not in the stadium either)
in summary, the following games were shown internationally:
Independiente v Newells
San Lorenzo v Atl Tucuman
Central v Racing
Huracan v Lanus
Boca v Argentinos
Banfield v River (USA only)
Estudio Futbol was shown since the start in latinamerica (except USA) and the US got the feed once the Banfield v River game ended.
Regarding the Futbol de 1ra new edition, it is obvious that it will change as AFA is not allowing any other cameras than canal 7's in the stadiums. Also, they only have the same footage that was broadcasted during the games. The format is weird, but I guess that the cancelling of La Ultima Palabra on Sunday's and the adition of Niembro, el Bambino, Titi and Benedetto makes it look like the overexposed Fox Sports faces. Also taking Vignolo out of 90 Minutos' Sunday edition and adding him to Futbol de 1ra adds to the Fox Sports over exposure.
Having Tinelli as the first guest, I guess it has to do as much for ratings as it is that Tinelli's radio station is associated with Fox Sports nowadays. This is all thrown in the same bowl.
It is an entire salad. Want to go further? Araujo is running the show at canal 7 and the production of the 10 games. Araujo and Niembro are partners in the School of Sports Journalism.
Fox Sports with the Libertadores and Sudamericana. Now with the Champions League and the Europa league. In the radio with Del Plata. And now inside Futbol de 1ra. The same face are getting waaaay overexposed. It only adds to their power of forming opinion to the masses.

Don't forget that Fútbol de Primera is in Canal 13, and Tinelli is the ace on that channel, i guess that's why he was the guest.
Also pitch commentators were banned by AFA on April. In these broadcasts there was a third guy reporting stuff, he was close but not on the pitch like in the past.

Yeah ... know that.
Heard they didn't allow any cameras in the stadium, but Paso a Paso is as always!?
Why didn't Futbol de 1ra use their own filming? Because the exclusivity of the goals was killed only, and needed more heavyweights as anchors? Pretty dumb, as their footage and editing was the beauty of the show.
FdP was shorter too ... only about 93 minutes long.

Paso a Paso remains like the same. Probably TyC doesn't want to waste any money on Fútbol de Primera anymore since they won't really get to show anything that hasn't been seen already, after all now it doesn't have anything special it became a kind of program that abund on TV and there's where Paso a Paso makes a difference. To be honest, i don't think Fútbol de Primera has any reason to remain alive anymore, it was on decline already, got to see what happens now.
