No more Telford United. Let's hope that this is the only club that England looses this summer.

That's a damn shame- they did quite bloody well in non-league cups this season too :(

There is hope that a re-formed Telford United will be able to enter the non-League structure for next season. A statement on the club website says that details should be known within 24 hours.

The quirk in all of this is that for the first time, none of the bottom 3 conference clubs will be relegated. Farnborough were saved because the top two teams in the Unibond League, Droylsden, and Hucknall, do not meet the minimum ground standard for Conference play. Leigh RMI were spared when Margate had to take relegation to the new Conference South because of their own ground problems. The unfortunate collapse of Telford means that Northwich Victoria also get to remain in the Conference.

NO!!!

Not Telford! Not my Bucks!

Now, who will I take Europe with in CM? No! Telford, come back!

Oh, the agony...

What would it take to resurrect them? How much?

I'm gonna cry...

The Telford Supporters Trust has announced that a new club has been formed, AFC Telford United, and they hope to enter the non-league structure in time for next season. More details should be known within the next 7 days.

We have indeed reformed and are now known as AFC Telford United, we as yet do not know where we will be placed in terms of which league, we all hoping its as high as possibly in league Structure, we are hoping too that our average attendence of (2100+)does not dip too much, at least we the fans now own the Club 100% ourselves, we have appoint board members with more from the business community to follow.. it will take a few years to get back to the level we were previously, but most are looking forward to the ride :).

AFC Telford United were placed in the Unibond League first division for next season. So, best case scenario is that this season would see them earn promotion to the Unibond Premier League, 2005-6 would see promoton to Conference North, and the 2006-7 season would see them win promotion back to Conference National. So, the earliest that AFC Telford could get back to where they were would be the 2007-8 season. Good luck.

Shows how big of a deal a club is to a community. The old club hasn't even been buried in the ground, so to speak, before leaders in the community get together and form a new club to fill the void.

Something similar happened to Aldershot, whose predecessor side folded in 1992. The revised side ran up the rungs, starting in the Ryman Leagues, and the new team recently joined the Conference. This year they lost to Shrewsbury in the playoff final for a spot in Division 3. Not a bad run.

What was the deal with Telford? Their owner was spending big money on ex League players like form Vale favourites Lee Mills and Tony Naylor. They had a cup run. Yet the guy still takes them down the pan. Has he been asset stripping?

His businesses sound like they're pretty much down the pan too.
