Hello LA Galaxy Supporters,
I come not to troll, but to ask for your help. Prior to the LA v DC match this Saturday, with the help of the Screaming Eagles, I am hosting a fund raiser for my brother, an Orange County resident and soccer fan. On July 11th he broke his neck, c5 and c6 vertebrae, in a tragic accident. While he has made remarkable improvements for such a severe spinal cord injury, over the last month, the reality of the situation is not good. I ask you to please lay aside your allegiences for one day and help support my brother and his family in anyway you can. Stop by www.chriswillwalk.com (http://www.chriswillwalk.com) to read about my brother's story.
Mods, I appreciate you leaving this post up. If you feel it is against BS policy, please feel free to erase. Thanks
Below is the event announcement.
On August 22, in conjunction with DC United’s match against the LA Galaxy, I will be holding a fundraiser in Lot 8 to support DC United fan and Huntington Beach , CA resident and my brother Chris Sheetz, who was critically injured in an accident on July 11th that left him paralyzed. Starting at 4:00pm, at their pre-game tailgate on Aug. 22 I will being will give out www.chriswillwalk.com (http://www.chriswillwalk.com/) shirts for a donation of $15. All money raised will go directly to support my brother and his family with his recovery.
Days after the accident, friend's of my brother started www.chriswillwalk.com (http://www.chriswillwalk.com/) to keep friends and family up to date on his progress and to take donations to help Chris, who at the time of his injury was without health insurance due to a pre-existing medical condition, and his family.
At kickoff for the game versus the LA Galaxy, the Screaming Eagles will unfurl a banner supporting www.chriswillwalk.com (http://www.chriswillwalk.com), to bring attention to Chris’s story. The August 22 match will be televised nationally on Fox Soccer Channel at 7:30 pm EDT.
Those who cannot attend are encouraged to visit www.chriswillwalk.com (http://www.chriswillwalk.com/) to learn more about Chris’s story and contribute to his full recovery effort.
Again, thank you all for your continued support.
