Call me mad (thats a rhetorical statement, you bumheaded literalists!), but I think Mourinho is coming to Spurs.

He admitted an approach in January
Diego said he wants to come to Spurs 'With a portuguese manager in the summer'
Mouurinho just said after the CL 'I'm coming to the EPL. I keep my promises, blah blah'

Regarding the last bullet-point, is he trying to head off the open jaws of Europe when he announces he's joining Spurs?

It`s official Mourinho is to become the next Spurs manager, just heard it on Sky Sports news. Here`s what he said `Having won the Portuguese League, the UEFA cup and the Champions league I now wish to win a relegation battle with Totingham, it will be the greatest challenge of my career. With Davids and Morientes we will prevail`.

I`m sorry about the trolling but you trolled first when starting this thread, it invited sarcasm.:D

I'm with you Jum. I was watching the Sky Sports coverage of the CL post game and all they kept saying is that Mourinho was a lock to move to London and join Chelski. All the while I'm thinking wouldn't it be a great coup if Spurs announced him as new manager.

Then I realized that such an announcement would make me happy. Having sacked Pleat Spurs have already filled my happiness quota for the year, so JM will definitely join Chelski. :(

A Spurs fan cannot troll in his own forum.

I still think we're likely to get a head coach of either Ranieri, Mark Hughes or Martin Jol. These are the three, although Levy is smart to be a little patient until the dust settles a bit on where exactly everyone is going.

This another of Mourinho's quotes from yesterday:

"One club had a serious conversation with my agent and a small conversation with me. I have given my word to them and I will not change my mind."

To me that spells Chelsea loud and clear. Then he said:

Asked whether Chelsea's spending power was a key factor in his decision, he said: "I think every club has a motivation. "When you have money to spend you must spend well. When you don't have money to spend you have to go for the formation. The best way is to do both things.

"When clubs decide to change their manager they believe something is not the way to be so I want to work and enjoy my life as a manager. I love football and I love to work. The club, the board and supporters must know I go with all my heart and give everything to improve the club. I decided I would like to go when I felt in Portugal there was nothing more to win, the challenge was not big enough for me."

Maybe that feeling you were having was just gas, looks like Jose is headed to Chelsea.

Okay, you can call me mad, in an unrhetorical, literalist way.

What interests me is that Mourinho has said he wants a new challenge. I guess when he said that I thought he meant it, not joining a club that finished runners-up in its league and got knocked out of the CL in the semi's, while also having the richest owner in the world. Where's the challenge in that?

How can I troll on my own boards? Talk crap, yes, but troll, no!

So it's not Jose, big deal. Frankly I didn't want him, I don't subscribe to the theory that a great team has to have an equally great coach so if you ask me Mourinho isn't the answer. Let Chelsea spend all of Abramovich's money and still be just as empty handed as Spurs when the season is over. Mourinho is not going to chage the fact that Abramovich has the patience of a spaz, and spends his money like a fool.

Bobby Robson has warned Chelsea that he might not be the right man, saying he's not really mixed it with the big boys (meaning a major league, not a cup competition i guess) and that every game is so stressful.

Hmm...
