The Scottish Premier League has penned a four-year deal with Setanta Sport to televise 38 live matches per season, Setanta revealed.
The Ireland-based broadcaster's director of channel development and marketing Roger Hall said coverage will include all 10 non-Old Firm clubs, but the focus will be on Celtic and rivals Rangers. "Our selection process for live games will be the same as previous broadcasters, with games agreed eight weeks in advance and no more than four visits to any one ground," said Hall.

All of which means nothing to North American based Scots . The only matches shown here will be in the RSC's and CSC's .

I FU*KING HATE SETANTA!!!
$20 FOR A SPL GAME!!
$179 FOR EURO CUP!!
Seriously, when will SPL realize that by going with Sentanta it is only catering to (and sucking the blood from) their existing fan base? Ain't nobody who isn't really interested in the OF going to pay $20 cover to get into a pub to watch a game. Ditto the Euro Cup. I REALLY want to watch the games but no way in Hell can I justify to the wife $180 for a month's worth of soccer games. Lots of bars will never pony up the $2000+ it costs for the Sentanta subscription. Witness the fact that I have to drive three hours to see a game.
If the SPL want to accomplish their stated goal of growing the pre-eminence of the league they will go with a more open licensing scheme that will allow more viewers to become fans.
[Insert joke about greedy, tight Scots here.]

What the SPL chiefs are interested in improving the league and getting it more coverage oversea's?
News to me........

I agree that the SPL and the team's first concern should be domestic, but there is something to cultivating the overseas market. Man Utd & Real Madrid didn't get to be the monsters they are now solely on the back of ticket sales. Not saying I'm thrilled about the money grubbing nature of the modern game, but that is the way it is.
Whilst $20 a game over here definitely puts some £ in the team's (ok, Old Firm's) pockets, it's a little penny wise, pound foolish. I'd have to believe that the SPL would make more money getting in on the Fox Sports (aka SKY) money. The exposure is certainly greater, which means peripheral money (shirts, videos, etc) would be greater.

The Estonia game was not on at all. It was only on the radio!
