So, not exactly a great performance to take into the first leg of a European qualifier, but let's see what we can do. I'd play the same team, including Lescott, he didn't have that bad a game against Arsenal, not brilliant but certainly a lot better than Yobo.

lescott was our best defender out there. I'm sorry but I am not a Yobo fan... he goes daydreaming in the middle of games. I am eagerly awaiting a healthy Jags back in our def. grrrrrr...

As the "first game of the season" (or so it is in my little world here) we need to come out strong and beat the shit outta SO. set the tone for the whole season to come :D

I watched Celtic slaughter Aberdeen at the weekend. It is slightly worrying though, you're not wrong, Aberdeen aren't an awful team but to beat them that badly. Let's hope it was just a very good day for them, and that they have a bad day come Thurs!

I've got a bad feeling about this one, with all the uncertainty surrounding the club and the result at the weekend.

Anyone remember the Metalist game a few years back when AJ missed two penalties??

Or even the Bucharest match??

Sorry to be negative but afer wintesseing the Arsenal game on Saturday it has been doom and gloom all the way for me this week!!

Come on Blues cheer me up!!

Yeah you're not wrong. These games always come at a difficult time for us, since we nearly always start slow. I can see this being more like the Standard game than the Metalist one though. I was watching the first leg of the Metalist game on EvertonTV two days ago, they were a very good team, and we underestimated them a bit I think. With all our disappointment in Europe barring 2007, we should try and go out all guns blazing and put it to bed early.

Lescott out of the squad due to a 'poor attitude'. I expect Neville to play centre half.

Guy on the radio reckons Neville or Rodwell.

I'd go Rodwell at the back. I don't trust any Neville playing in the centre of defence. Rodwell is a good defender though, so it's not all bad!

Man City are not in Europe so the cup-tie thing isn't in the question. Also I really hope we don't play Rodwell centre half, he's not ready to play there simple as, and Davie knows this so it'd be more of a gamble.

Lescott out of the squad due to a 'poor attitude'.

What the hell is going on with Joleon?

He always seemed like a consummate professional to me.

And not even Cristiano Ronaldo was benched for a "poor attitude" when he was pushing hard to be transferred to Real.

You shouldn't be. Aberdeen had injury problems for the first leg at Pittodrie and had to start a right back at center back and a midfielder at right back. Olomouc were very effective against them though, but I'd expect you guys to do the business without too many issues.

i don't think it's anything to do with the fans, i think a lot of thoughts are going on in his head... if it's true his fam lives in manchester, you can bet his wife is fuming that he isn't going to work closer to home... then Hughes is a dickhead with all of his comments... it's enough to stress out any person. and stress can make us do the damndest things. :(

I just want shot of him asap. He's a good player and I wish him well, but he's not bigger than the club no-one is. Manchester isn't even far from Liverpool. I'm pretty sure it's about the money. I didn't think Lescott was like that though.
