Goalkeeping Coach

Nick has been pathetic coming back from injury even though he was arguably the most valuable player for the past 2 years.
Warren, who's been the U23 keeper for the US, can't replace Nick.
We're now on to the 3rd choice keeper.

Does anyone else think it's a bit too odd of a coincidence that we have 2 keepers with established abilities unable to handle MLS this year?

Rather than a bringing in a new keeper from MLS (or worse, Zack Thorton), we need a new goal keeping coach that can bring the keepers we have back to the level they should be.

If there's anyone who would know about recovery I would think it would be goalkeeper coach Mark Simpson!

Rimando hasn't been the same since he blew out his knee. I seriously doubt Simpson is telling him "ok Nick, on set pieces I want you to mistime when you come out of the six yard box and flail your arms as the ball goes past you."

And please explain to my why Zach Thornton would be "worse."

Think about this!! Did it ever don on anyone that maybe - Last year there was very little pressure on Nick to perform - he was comfortable with his position with Hudson - Doug was no threat to him. He gets hurt - Doug takes over-he's just ok, Nick still has no pressure other then to come back from his surgery, knowing Doug was not a threat. Now pre-season new Keeper comes in (Perkins) puts pressure on both keepers and neither Doug or Nick know how to compete for the position and now have ALOT of pressure to perform in practice and games.

Nowak has always said - the starting 11 will be those that practice well and play hard at all times.

Just a thought!!

I am seriously starting to wonder about this statement. 3 or 4 weeks ago it seemed true now, I am just not sure.

I agree. Someone needs to scout the practices.
