El A.F.I. El Roble cumplió su promesa de estar en la gran final de la segunda división el próximo domingo enfrentando al Atlético Marte, evento que permitirá conocer al equipo ascendido a la primera división y al que deberá enfrentar al Alianza en los dos partidos de repechaje.......

Great news. I'd be happy with either of these two teams in the first division. Especially Marte, but AFI is a good team to and if they get promoted i'd be real interested to see how Quintanilla performs at that level.

Has Microsoft ever owned any other sports teams? I mean i've heard of them going after EPL clubs, but i don't think they've ever actually bought and managed a football team before have they? Seems kinda weird to be honest; but who knows, the way our clubs are run right now, it could only be a good thing.

Yeah that's true. The club has a lot of contacts over there, so hopefully it goes down. If not, then Nejapa might have to merge with another club just to stay alive.

La comisión normalizadora de la Federación Salvadoreña de Fútbol (FESFUT) otorgó una póliza de seguros para los 250 jugadores que militarán en los 10 equipos de la liga mayor a partir del Apertura 2009.......

Los marcianos ganaron el juego 1 - 0. El gol lo marcó al minuto 40 el marciano Roberto Maradiaga al hacer efectivo el cobro de un tiro libre.......

Luego de siete años de ausencia el Atlético Marte hace su retorno a la primera división del fútbol salvadoreño al vencer 1-0 en la finalísima, de la liga de plata, al AFI Roble de Ilobasco.......

Great news. Hopefully they can recapture some of the glory from the old days and be competative in the first division. Also hopefully they keep much of the same squad as they have a few of the former U20 players who might grow into decent players if they are given the chance.

Also, with this it's now official that Alianza will play AFI to determine if they stay up, or if they get relegated. Should be interesting as it seems Ancheta has been training them hard, and they've even managed to pull off some decent post season wins. Should be noted to that Amaya (the kid they got from Santa Tecla) has been playing really well and scored a few goals. Personally i hope AFI can pull it off and get promoted, but who knows, none the less it should be interesting to see what happens.

It's a shame he couldn't stay on at Metapan. They are gonna miss him in the CCL.

Great to see that Quintanilla has a chance to come to the first division even if AFI doesn't make it. The kid has a lot of promise.

i am so glad atletico marte got promoted they truly deserved ....they did great rebuilding after their relegation in 2002, hey el custleco will they be playing in estadio cuscatlan or estadio jorge magico gonzales
becasue if they play in the estadio jorge magico perhaps if they go good in the primera division and gain the support of the san salvador people perhaps it can be improved and we can have two staduims to play at the ccl champions league and friendlies.
Alianza v el roble will be a good game but because nelson ancheta has taken over alianza, they have become great.

Not sure where they'll play. I'm guessing it'll most likely be in Cuscatlan Stadium, but who knows. I really dislike the fact that these stadiums loan out the facilities to club teams though. It looks really bad when you have a team playing in a stadium that holds 45,000+ and less than 1,500 people show up to your games (i.e. Alianza).

I'd prefer they use the Flor Blanca for the same reasons you've mentioned though. Although just cause a team plays there doens't necessarily mean it's going to match FIFA regulations. But it would be nice to see it used again, and maybe if we are lucky then maybe they could get there act together and use it for the CCL like you said.

Por otra parte, Carlos Ayala, goleador de los norteños, afirmó que no hay una fecha definida para iniciar el trabajo oficialmente, ya que el plantel esperará noticias de los directivos sobre el pago pendiente.

Sobre los rumores que vinculan al “Rapado” Ayala con Alianza, fue el mismo jugador quien confirmó que ya existió un acercamiento con directivos para negociar su incorporación debido al hueco que dejará Zelaya en la delantera.

El bicampeón perdió su segunda pieza en menos de una semana. Primero fue Julio Enrique Martínez. Ayer se sumó a la lista de bajas el seleccionado Williams Reyes, quien aceptó un contrato por dos años con FAS, un ex equipo donde ganó cinco títulos bajo la era del técnico Agustín Castillo.......

Another big loss for Metapan. If this keeps up then i'm doubting they'll be able to do as well as they could have in the CCL :(
