Who should Southampton look at bringing in this summer? Sturrock has said he wants a larger squad. And he's also said that he's wanted some defensive wingers so Anders can run the midfield.

Who's on their way in?

And at that, who's on the way out?

Wolves and Saints are looking at brining in Sousa from Boavista :

Sky is reporting that Jelle van Damme is considering a move to Southampton. I like the kid and wouldn't blame him for leaving Ajax to play in the premeirship. I just wonder to what extent we need more defenders with Hall, Svensson, Claus, Higginbotham, Le Saux, Crainey, and of course Dodd all playing in the back. he could fill in nicely for Le Saux, though.

And here is where the rumor started with Beattie hinting that he may need to move to a bigger club to get an England call up. Pretty sad when he can still put the ball in the back of the net another 15 or so times and doesnt' get an England call up nor bought by a big club while a hack like Alan Smith can get more cards than goals, get the big move, and get capped by Sven.

And now football365.com is carrying the rumor that Southampton just may be interested in buying Beasley.

"...And Southampton are keeping tabs on Chicago Fire's 22-year-old American left winger DaMarcus Beasley."

Looks like Saints will have to wait for Mikael Nilsson until December when the Swedish season is over + his contract is up.

And Williamson has been loaned out to Wycombe for the year. Great move on the part of the Saints and Mike. Surely playing for Tony Adams will teach him a thing or ten about defense.

Horrible rumour floating around, and has even appeared on the OS, that we are in the race to sign Peter "7 foot 10, diabolical, former skate" Crouch.

Saints go fishing for skate? (http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/article.asp?article=212755&Title=Saints+linked+with+Crouch)

Not good news, I can't see how it advances our squad. We have Beats, SKP, Marian and Brett, with Dexter Blackstock coming through and now we are looking at Crouch - can't see it happening to be honest.

What? Pure craziness. I still see Pahars going bakc up top if Beats or Philips happen to be sold. Crouch? no-no. THat just ain't right.

BTW - Great to see another Saint on BS!!!

Hey guys, I know this seems a bit feeble, but my mate in Bristol told me that he heard that Southampton has made another offer for Beasley's services over the radio this afternoon. (afternoon back in britain anyway) Just thought I'd throw that in for you. Closest prem team we have to support unfortunately seeing as my city are never going to get there. :(

Just to let you know that Crouchy was not training with the Villa squad on Thursday, so it looks like he`s going somewhere, either to you, Bolton or Norwich, £1.75m is the likely fee. Don`t be too depressed if you get him for that much, he`s actually a skillful player and will play well alongside a natural goalscorer. He would be more popular among Vila fans if we hadn`t spent £5.5m on him.

The boy's talented. My fear is that if the Saints are going to buy him that means they're ready to sell Beattie or KP. And I think we can hold onto both of those boys for another year.

I don't believe we will/need to/or want to sell either Beats or SKP. However, if we we need to make room up front, my fear is we will let Marian go for a fee. That would be a shame after all the work that went into his work permit, and his application on the field, when he's not injured. We now have six forwards...can't see us keeping them all
