Whites V Sunderland 15/8/09

So here we are, the start of a new season and we begin this feast of football at home to Sunderland. The Wearsiders, like us, have spent the summer strenghtening their team so it's hard to predict any real outcome for tomorrow.

Possible Bolton team:

Jussi
Ricketts
Knight
Cahill
Steinsson
Taylor
Muamba
M. Davies
Gardner
Davies
Elmander

Away at Hull City today, the've lost their opening two games and it looks to be the most winnable game we'll have for a while.

Team:

Jussi
Ricketts
Knight
Cahill
Robinson
Muamba
Taylor
S. Davis
M. Davies
K. Davies
Elmandavies

0-1

As an American, I was instantly afraid of Altidore's introduction and what it'd mean for Bolton. Turns out I had plenty to fear.

We could have got him on loan but Megson's scouting doesn't extend further than the English coast.

We face the old evil, Tranmere Rovers, in the Carling Cup on tuesday. They're managed by John Barnes and old boy Jason McAteer is his assistant.

Megson has been notoriously dismissive of cups but IMO he really needs to take this seriously. The fans are just about ready to hang him and a loss to Tranmere could push him over the edge, I hope he's made aware of the history between the two clubs.

I expect, nay, demand a full strength side.

He would be a fool to play a reserve team. there's a huge rivalry with Tranmere and to ignore that would be a slap in the face to the fans... again.

Has Megson ever truly heeded the fans' advice/wishes?

No.

We're currently 0-0 with Tranmere Rovers. The team is the same as saturday with the exception of Samuel in place of Robinson at left back.

We win 1-0 thanks to Mark Davies.

Next game is across the Mersey against struggling Liverpool.

On another Carling note, Jozy and the **********cats worked well again for Hull.

We've drawn West 'aaaaaaaaaaaaaam in the Carling cup. If we're lucky they may be thrown out and we'll get a bye ;)

Same team as the last few weeks except Cohen in for Mark Davies.

1-0 to us currently, Super Kev with the goal. It was like a game of pinball.
