No Bayern coverage the first 2 weeks of the season?!? That is absolutely unacceptable for Germany's most popular club. Does anyone know the reason for this?

Its been on ESPN Deportes and ESPN360. This has been discussed in numerous threads throughout the Germany boards already.

Pisses me off b/c I pay a LOT of damn money to get all the other crappy channels that you have to pay for to be able to get GolTV on DirectTV!
I'm pretty interested in switching over to Dish and the new German Sports pkg. I'd like to get a little more positive feedback on that package before looking to dive in...

Sorry, haven't been to the boards in at least a year. I dont have those ESPN channels and was just wondering why GolTV, a channel I do have, was apparently not showing FCB (so far) this season.

I'm right there with you. My Stuttgarter friend has the My Sports Germany channel. I'll be watching the Bundesliga matches on Sat. at his place. I'll give you a thumbs up or down on ther channel, because based on how Sat. goes I'll be switching to Dish.

The guide on Dish is showing info on the programming now. You should see the "Konferenz" in the morning and then the live game of the week. There is no Friday game this week but on Friday they show the "Konferenz" from the 2. Liga and then they also show the "2. Liga Konferenz" live early Saturday morning. Looks like plenty of live soccer, but only 1 live game on Sunday, if the guide is correct. Does your friend know that Fox Soccer is showing the Stuttgart Championsleague game next week? It's time delayed but still, better than nothing.

@DarkKnight (Dirk)... Does the guide show that they show games on a delayed basis? IE...if Bayern is not shown live, is it availalbe later as a complete game and not part of Konferenz??

The guide showed the Bayern - Bremen game coming on after the live game of the week on Saturday. I watched a few games so far and they were full games with interviews after the game. It's the same broadcast that ProSieben had last year. They show the stretched 4:3 picture that you can stretch back to the original 16:9 format on a widescreen tv. I hope you know what I mean. The channel is not in HD.

You're welcome. It looks like they show every Bundesliga game in full length during the cause of the week and maybe even every 2. Liga game too but I am not sure on that. Need another week to check that out.

That's valuable info to those of us considering a switch to Dish, so please keep us posted as it goes along for you.

Not that this partains to GolTV, but I thought I would list it here....
Channel surfing last night, I found on Direct TV that Channels 461-465 are designated UEFA Channels. Each has a duplicate channel (simply listed with a -1 next to it, ex: 462-1) which is broadcast in HD!!!
Now I know this does not benefit Bundesliga viewings, but come UEFA Champions League time when we cannot get Bayern games on ESPN, perhaps it will.
I have set it to record the Aug-18 VfB Stuttgart UEFA match, so I will report on how it goes.
----
Also, FYI... there is a Setanta channel that will be showing Chelsea v. Sunderland on Aug-18 as well in full HD!!!

You know back in my day, we didn't have HD. We'd be happy enough with a webradio stream. You kids aren't even happy with 720p these days, it's 1080p or nothing!

Funny as it is us 'old farts' bitching about HD. LOL!!!
I watch Bayern however I can. Plain and simple. But HD is what I can utilize my 100 inch screen with, so it is preferred.

That's the only thing you've got with that many inches, no? ;):D
Edit: Yesterday you bring up your package....now you're talking size....maybe you should be in the "other teams" forum--if you know what I mean. .....Not that there's anything wrong with that....LOL
