How'd your guys new player do? I heard he played the whole second half. Even though he plays for ES, I still have tremendous respect for him.

Good News please?

Made a difference for the team too by making team play the ball more on the ground and not in the air which was screwing us up badly against Trinidad. The team attacked more also. Dribbled through players nicely, very offensive like always, and nice passes too. :)

sounds like some kind of a ringer for the rest of qualification.

Aww man! I was gonna make a debut video that's why I was asking if anybody had clips of the game or full game on a site or something in the Trinidad vs El Salvador thread.

The kid is on another level, a player that should be playing in Europe.. He made Castillo & Cheyo look like they never existed...

Next game we need to go more offensive, instead of playing with 5 defenders, DLC needs to figure out how to line up Romero, Cheyo, AA, Castillo, Zelaya & Julio if he recovers in sort of different line up....

--------Zelaya-----
------------Cheyo----
Castillo--Romero--Alvarez--Julio
-------------Sanchez----------
---Pacheco--Marvin--Salazar---
--------------Montes------------

I would prefer a 4-4-2. If we play with 3 defenders vs USA we will definitely get wrecked. * if we play with the luison in the back that is. and Ramon Flores****And if our forwards couldn't score vs TNT they won't score against USA. We need all around safe bet, for this game. I think our 4 defenders will play way better than the last past game. The midfield will be key. And hopefully Fito can find his scoring boots cause he does everything else right. Same with Williams, i feel terrible for the guy. He does everything right, holds the ball up. Distributes but never seems to score for us. In the league he tears it up, i wish he got a break already.

I'm very happy for Arturo Alvarez. I like him as a player, and he seems like a nice guy. If we weren't going to use him, he deserved a chance to play on the international stage. Best of luck to him (except against the US of course).

El estadounidense-salvadoreño Arturo Álvarez entró en el 45' y fue el mejor del equipo. Un jugador con calidad y visión.......

Agree look better then Castillo can't compare with Cheyo since they don't play in the same position. Oh also on your line up Alvarez doesn't play well at all in center. Alvarez had a trial with a club in France Bordeaux but didn't bother signing with them when he had the chance. I remember one of his teammates in the past said he could easily play in France and I think he would play good over there too. Portugal league wouldn't be bad for him in my opinion too.

Plenty of people are shying away from Portugal right now because players don't get paid.

We might be already done chief..Even if we beat USA & Mexico at their home we are gonna still need help from other teams, and I dont see that happening. Im am not dissapoined though, ES is back!

Even if they do go to the world cup I don't think they are ready. This team is nowhere as good as world cup 82 team or better. Maybe the next world cup but the one after that we should really be ready with the young players of FESA that are playing aboard especially the ones in Europe. We should win as much WCQ game as possible even if we don't qualify to get these players even better and ready for the next WCQ for 2014.

Just wanted to add to this. Back in 2005 he had wanted to go to Mexico to play and got interest from Atlas even before he was drafted into the MLS and that was all the way back in 2002 playing club ball in houston. Not many people knew about this because he didn't talk about it much but both he and Edgar (his brother, a decent player but not the quality of Artie) had planned on going down there for trials, his brother obviously with the academy. Plans fell through and after that he had talked about going to france for YEARS. Going over there was something he wanted to do badly, there were a few other clubs than Bordeaux who had shown some interest (not officially, whatever that means from Art). I won't quote exactly but before he got his raise, I know Arturo wasn't happy with his MLS situation.

Atlas wouldn't have been bad. Did you know Bordeaux is of the one top clubs in France I don't think he would have been a starter would have been on the bench alot. But now it wouldn't be bad to see him with Bordeaux but I rather see him in Marseille :p.
