Today's article about the Colorado game says Ara was absent due to some school commitment.

Harvard's website has the date of commencement as June 10 (terribly designed website, BTW...you'd think that with all that brainpower they could do a better job of it).
Still plenty of time for school committments to keep him off the field.

In the Post article a few days ago about all the graduatiosn, they said that Ara graduates June 10. But I think if Carroll just keeps kicking the ball up field as hard as he can, then Ara may get a shot.

Considering we gave up a second and a third round pick in next year's draft to get this guy, I'd like to think he could contribute.
I like Brian Carroll, but it's not like he's been Edgar Davids out there. If Ara can't get a spot in a game, even when the team is down a goal and has subs to burn - LA - or up a goal and has subs to burn - Columbus - that's not a good sign that Piotr has confidence in him.
I'm not gonna write a guy off as a rookie, especially when he's juggling soccer with finishing up at an Ivy League school, but I really thought a guy we gave up two picks to take would be able to contribute for a team that's averaging one point a game.

Knowing how HASCS runs computers there, I feel ya.
Thing is, Harvard and Princeton both have first-term exams after Christmas, which pushes their Commencement ceremonies into June (which also means these two schools have the pick of speakers). The first half of May is "reading period," which is two weeks of study hall. The second half are the exams themselves. In June, you have various ceremonies including Baccalaureate, Class Day, and the morning, mid-day, and afternoon exercises. Yep, FIVE GRADUATION CEREMONIES -- at least at Harvard. I think there are just three at Princeton.

There are multiple "ceremonies" that are part of Harvard's Commencement Week festivities, from the aforementioned Baccalaureate, and Class Day exercises, to the various reunion events and symposia. That being understood, all degrees are confered during the morning exercises of Commencement day, which is ordinarily the first Thursday in June. Ara would have stood up with his Harvard College classmates at the end of the mornign exercises (since Harvard College degrees are confered last), had the degree confirmed, and likely would have returned to his house a little before noon to receive his diploma.
There are separate graduation ceremonies for a number of the graduate and professional schools, including the Kennedy School of Government, Harvard Law School, and Harvard Medical School.
Just FYI,

Ali G's commencement speech can be found here:

It's too bad DC doesn't wear yellow. I'd like to see Ali decked out in our gear.
