Who gets to punt LA's underacheiving, El flopidito riding, loser, can't decide on a keeper, regular season king, playoff chump, so-worthless-we-have-to-change-our-colors-like-Colorado butt out of this years MLS playoffs?

I'm installing Dallas as a 3-1 favorite followed by SJ at 4-1, KC at 5-1, and COL at 8-1. Everyone else but Chicago at 10-1, and finally Chicago at 20-1 since they can't seem to beat LA anywhere. Call your bookie before the odds drop.

For reference:

1996 dc - dc wins the Cup Final 3-2. Campos coughed up a hairball and a rebound that Pope put in for the winner in OT...oops.

1997 DAL - Underdog and lower seeded Dallas wins Game 1 in LA and kicks LA's butt all over the Cotton Bowl in a 3-0 win and a first round 2-game sweep.

1998 CHI - Once again favored LA bends over in their own house and loses to the Fire 1-0 before getting swept on the return trip to Chicago

1999 dc again - One more time in a final LA can't handle dc. This time it's Moreno and "young" Benny Olsen plant the boot in LA's backside

2000 KC - LA's inability to beat Meola or contain Miklos Molnar in both Game 3 and the mini-game decider ends LA pipe dreams. For the fifth year in a row LA has a long tearful plane flight home. At least they should be getting good at it by now.

2001 SJ - Three finals, three losses. Six playoffs, six red-eyes to LAX. This time to the previously worthless Quakes. DeRosario's OT Cup-winner doing the honors. Only LA could give birth to the desease that is "Quake-pride" Thanks loads LA.

2002 ? - Who will they submit to this year?

LOL!!! Holy Shite, I can't belive a Rainbow Boy supporter decide to talk trash. You guys still exist?

If I recall, aren't you guys the current house bi*t*ch? Every other team has whipped that ass this season, including your daddy Morelia. And you guys are still in the Open Cup? Save the MLS the embarrasment of seeing you as US Open Cup winner and bend over nice and easy for Columbus.

Listen up one hit wonder, your team sucks, has always sucked, and will continue to suck. 2000 was an MLS experiment, trying to see if they could boost attendance in KC (right). But your tornado chasing, rainbow loving Lizard fans can't seem to figure out how to pack a stadium properly. One hit wonder, that all.

And (we) are still (under the assumption that we actually have a chance in the playoffs)? Save the MLS the embarrasment of seeing (us get killed in another Cup final) and (we will) bend over nice and easy for (the lucky team who draws us in the first round).

Listen up, (I'm a no) hit wonder, (my) team sucks, has always sucked, and will continue to suck. (2001) was (a USSF) experiment, trying to see if (the space-time would go into chaos if the Galaxy actually won some US hardware). But (my over-tanned, silicon filled) fans can't seem to figure out how to (support a winner). (I'm a no) hit wonder, that all.

Fixed your post, bitch.

2000 semi's remember?

For reference:

1996: Lost to LA in the Semis.

1997: Bent over for Colorado in first round.

1998: Decided not to go to the Play-off's.

1999: Again decided not to show up for the Play-off's.

2000: Year of the Wiz, OK, I'll give you that.

2001: Out in the first round to a team that isn't even here anymore.

2002: Embarass MLS, and doing their best to not make the play-off's.

Call me crazy but I'll take a constant standard of excellence over one fluke title anytime.

Beat the "standard of excellence" to get to the Cup

We took Miami to game three and lost by one goal. San Jose took Miami to game three and won by one goal in extratime. San Jose played LA in the Cup and won by one goal in extratime.

So by my calculations, me... and you, we're pretty much in the same boat, just we had to play tougher teams to start with.

Had we decided not to beat Chicago, that statement would be true, but we're pretty much locks for the playoffs now. 6 teams vying for 4 slots, and we're at the top of those 6 teams.

I'm sure Bills fans will agree with you, but that's about it.

Big shock Loney has to take the steriotypical woman's tact to arguing:

Don't refute the statement or stick to one thing, just bring everything and everybody else that has no bearing on the original point into the arguement to confuse things. Just be right about something, anything, the further back in history the better...

Who's going to be Miklos Molnar this season? Who will Hartman allow to use him like a dishrag in this year's bracket? Can Lalas continue to avoid winning a title in MLS? Maybe the year after he retires LA might have a chance.

Rainbows are the best comeback you can come up with? Very sad. Typical, but sad.

I know everthing from Fargo to Big D and St. Louis to Denver is pretty much the same to you coastal geographicly-challenged rejects, but save the tornado smack for Oklahoma City/Tulsa if and when they get a team.

KC and Columbus had more interested people show up last Saturday than LA did.

Still no word from you on who will boot your ass out of the playoffs? Any opinion?

You know the Wizards, what you're named after is the fricking wizard of oz, and since it's your favorite movie (you just can't get enough of the tin man), you'd know full well that a TORNADO comes and takes dorothy (hey maybe you should change your supporters group name to the Munchkins, or Wicked Witches of The West) to OZ. So think before you post, you know the big soccer mantra.

Again there is nothing else to do in KC on a Saturday night, except perhaps rock out to those oh so hip Christian Rock bands that seem to be the only way to get a decent sized crowd. And you're comparing, what you're 3rd largest crowd of all time, to just another Saturday night game in LA. Wow you win, let me go hide in my whole again.

Like, sorry I'm not using Robert's Rules of Order to answer your seventh-playoff seed smack, though.

Who's going to be Miklos Molnar this season?Geez, talk about going back into the past. Buy a calendar, Chester, or else you'll be bringing up Preki or something.

Who will Hartman allow to use him like a dishrag in this year's bracket? Can Lalas continue to avoid winning a title in MLS? Maybe the year after he retires LA might have a chance. Alexi Lalas, defender of the year, to you, pal.

Wow.. someone should give Mr. Informed here a prize.

Although early speculation toward the name centered around the obvious connection with the "Wizard of Oz", that was never the intention of the club. Rather, the team wanted a completely unique name that would create instant awareness for the team throughout Kansas City, as well as the rest of the United States. With the "Wiz" moniker, the club created market awareness.

20k+ Sat. night and no christian rock band, explain that one for me why don't ya?

And you might not have realized, but your city is about 10 times as big as ours and from what I've gathered after living here for my whole life, it appears Mexicans are afraid of the midwest, and they like soccer a whole bunch, and you have a lot of them. So that might explain the reason why we're pretty happy with "just another day in LA."

What kind of rocket scientists do they have working for the Wiz? "Of course everyone is going to think the name has a connection to the Wizard of Oz, but we're going to name them the Wiz which will give us "a completely unique name".

Wizardscharter,

Thanks for the interesting post; I think we all know that LA is good enough to win the cup this year, and the season is theirs to win or lose.

This is in sharp contrast to the Whiz, the Champs-to-Chumps who are destined to suck mightily this year (again) and who will walk away with nothing more than the 2002 Morelia Pearl Necklace Award.

Enjoy,

Topper

We like to call it "America's shower drain"

And the "coastal rejects" are actually taking over Denver right now. Us beautiful people are still here, fighting all the transplants for housing, jobs, etc...

but save the tornado smack for Oklahoma City/Tulsa if and when they get a team.

And counter the attendance smack they'll be levying on you? Not a chance.

Still no word from you on who will boot your ass out of the playoffs? Any opinion?

Pray, pray that someone actually does (which they won't), because this board will completely melt down. It will be fun, but it will end badly...
