United don't have a set starting XI. It all depends on who we're playing.

Picking and choosing between Fletcher, Anderson, Hargreaves (when fit), Carrick and Scholes in central midfield is not easy and all depends on who it is we're set to play. If we're up agaimnst a physical midfield like that of Chelsea or Liverpool, it's probably best to leave Scholes out etc.........

Gomes

Corluka - Woodgate - King - Assou-Ekotto

Lennon - Palacios - Jenas - Modric

Defoe - Crouch

Bassong and Dawson will see plenty of action covering our first-choice central defenders and Hutton and Naughton will also feature quite a bit.

Bentley, Huddlestone and O'Hara should all see action in midfield.

Upfront, it's a real lottery with Keane and Pavlyuchenko just as likely to feature as the two strikers I've picked.

Kuyt is definitely ahead of Yossi, who has proven to be a great super-sub while Kuyt's combination of erm... "skill" and work rate are better to start matches.

I think you also forgot about all the important goals he scores.

Carrick and Anderson, for some reason, have seen minimal action this term so I assume that, for the time being, they are not considered neccasary starters.

My ideal lineup :D but I'd have Kuyt in it for Riera

Cech

Bosingwa - Carvalho - Terry - A. Cole

Essien

Ballack Lampard

Deco

Anelka Drogba

Lining up something like this for our latest game. Formation is changing quite a lot recently though. Variations of Diamond or Christmas tree. When we are fully healthy i would like to see Joe Cole and Zhirkov in there in place of Ballack and Deco.

Wouldn't mind seeing N'Gog be given an opportunity.

Zayatte Mouyokolo Gardener Dawson

Ghilas Olonfinjana Kilbane Hunt

Geovanni

Altidore

I watch Hull a lot so i will do their lineup as i see it now they have sold Turner. Possible changes will be Mcshane at RB and Zayatte would go at CB instead of gardener. Also Boateng might start instead of kilbane.

You've missed out Heskey and Carew there, which is highly unlikely to my mind.

If one thing is for certain, to my mind at least you understand, it's that of one or both are fit, then atleast one of them will start. And I don't think Young will play up-front. He may well come central mind. I think O'Neil may have bought Downing in order to bring Young into a more cnetral position.

Villa genuinely excite me this year, providing they can build on what has been an unexpectedly shaky start.
