What a huge mistake this would be if he's let go.
Great shot, powerful header, pace, height and strength - in short he's got all the things a typical center forward needs.
Whether or not he will actually develope into an international class striker is not the question that should be asked, he does seem to have the potential after all, rather, the question that should be asked is would it be worth the risk of losing him to another country given the potential he shows?

It's not Chelsea that will loose him if he plays for Nigeria but England. I think he should do whatever he feels is in his best interests and development as a player.

I'd rather he played for England. He would miss vast amounts of time in those silly international friendlies and African tournaments if he played for Nigeria. Besides, why? Is England full of quality young strikers that no one has seemed to notice?

Everyone in the world knows that he is already better than Heskey :)
He could easily play for England

honestly, i think he has a better chance of playing for England than Nigeria, CC was still scoring goals for the u-19's last year, & who's ahead of him for the full ENG team? : rooney/owen/defoe imho. at NIG? : martins/yakubu/utaka & kanu. nigeria rotate faaaar less than england giving CC less of a chance to shine. i think vassell & heskey are both on the outs for the squad and so young guns like CC "the young lion of Chelsea" (to quote ranieri)
the real chance to make there mark.

if Carlton plays well for Villa (10 goals+) i predict he'll have his 1st international cap (for england!) next year.
