He'll return to do a sports show for Univision Radio, starting May 24th...with a slight different cast of people....Among other stuff, they'll have full coverage of Copa America (i still wish the US could play this tourney)....Hopefully, just like they used to do with Radio Unica, they'll find the time/interest to cover some USMNT games and/or have some MLS show like they did on Sundays in the now defunct station....

Radio Stations:
LA KTNQ 1020
New York WADO 1280
Miami WQBA 1140
Chicago WIND 560
Houston KLAT 1010
San Antonio KCOR 1350
Dallas/Ft.Worth KFLC 1270
McAllen KGBT 1530
El Paso KAMA 750
Las Vegas KLSQ 870

It's always a good thing to hear that the best PbP announcer (IMO anyway) is back on the air.....Shame he cannot do his job in English as well....

Thats good to hear. It will be nice to hear him call games again. Jorge Ramos is great and a true friend to US soccer, he always gives it it's due.

Took a look at his website and realized theres no Bay Area radio! Suck!!
He does point this out here:
"Habrá alguna zona de el país como por ejemplo la Bahía de San Francisco que en los primeros tiempos no podrán escucharnos ya que en la región Univisión Radio no posee emisora AM, pero tenemos la esperanza de que en un tiempo prudencial esto pueda revertirse, ya que sabemos de la gran cantidad de oyentes que en ese sector podemos aglutinar."
and promises things will get better as time goes on, acknowledging the great number of listeners who used to tune in to his show from the area...
I certainly missed the guy's commentary and his goal calls for US and Peru games...Made me enjoy their victories even more....Hopefully he can regain a more prominent foothold as he used to do with Radio Unica....

As far as the bay area, where I live, Jorge wrote me the following:

"About being on the air in your area, will not be easy because Univision has no
AM station and no plans to buy one.

We need an entrepreneur that want to on put the show.

Brokering time in another radio (station) and selling advertising, I think is
the only way."

Note that both WADO NYC and WQBA Miami stream 24/7 so it should be pretty easy to listen on your computer. I have put the links to those two feeds on the main page of our site.

That's great news. I also miss the Radio Unica show, so hopefully this show will do much of the same. We have plenty of soccer talk on the radio here in Houston, but it's very oriented toward Mexico, as you would expect. The old show on Unica gave Mexican soccer its well-deserved time, but also paid attention to other countries, including the US. Perhaps that was part of the problem from a business perspective, but it made for a good soccer show substantively.

Btw - if you're interested, another announcer that some people apparently seem to enjoy, Andres Cantor, is schedueld to be on the Glenn Davis radio show this Sunday, presumably blabbering pompously about something in English:

Andres Cantor joins Glenn Davis' soccer show at 5 p.m. [Central Time] Sunday on KPFT (90.1 FM). TV/Radio Notebook, David Barron, Houston Chronicle (http://www.chron.com/cs/CDA/ssistory.mpl/sports/barron/2583096). The show streams online at www.kpft.org.
