I haven't heard anything recently about their academy's European tour where they are supposed to be playing against some top clubs. If any news pops up, I'd like to know about it.

Also, I live overseas and get the BarcaTV channel, so if they show their game against them there I'll give you guys a recap.

OK, so there have been a good amount of views but no info. I just found a blog dedicated to the trip on www.mydynamo.net. The page is: http://mydynamo.ning.com/profile/DynamoAcademy?xg_source=profiles_memberList

or you can go to the "Community" tab and select "Members" then type in Dynamo Academy.

Looks like the Dynamo Academy lost 1-0 to Celtic in a very competitive match and they are now in Barcelona.

Celtic's U-19 team lost yesterday in the final of a tournament in Villarreal to Liverpool on penalties. They had beaten teams like Milan and Real Madrid to get there... so I'm not quite sure what youth team the Dynamo played.

Saying that, I have a new favorite Dynamo youth player. :D

“Celtic’s was better, because it looks more high-class and I think it’s bigger, too. It was really fancy,” said Erick Sanchez when asked which stadium he liked better, Parkhead or Ibrox. “All the seats are green, so it makes it fun for the fans. I thought the grass was very tight.”

Apparently the Dynamo gave Barcelona a pretty good game and was the first team to hold them to just one goal in over a year.

Over the past few days, Dynamo Academy beat an adult team, lost to Villareal 5-1, but beat Real Madrid today 3-2.

Great trip for the boys.

There is video galore over at MyDynamo.com under our Academy U-18's European Vacation. Check it out.
There is video from match action versus Barcalona and Villareal clips of the players in and around the various cities and some cool video of our Academy guys singing our North End DALE DYNAMO chants after the win over Real Madrid.

There were also some very powerful comments made by the Youth Sporting Director from Barca on the quality of our Academy players and the challenge it presented to their Barca U-19 sqaud that as he stated "our opponents are normally heavily defeated" and also went on to say that their U-19 squad as 2-3 boys that they think will feature for the first team in the near future. So what the 1-0 victory showed Barca is that this MLS club's youth ranks offered them the stiffest competition they had seen in years.

so I'm not quite sure what youth team the Dynamo played.
My Weegie pal told me that was the same U-19 Celtic squad as they got off the plane and the next day our U-18's took the bus over from taking Rangers U-19 to the shed and played at the Celtic training fields.

Excellent.

Don't be too surprised. Each year we are producing a lot more young kids that can play. If a kid can get Euro paperwork a lot of people will take a look.

There was an article today ont he Dynamo Youth team in the Houston Chronicle today:

Pretty general, but worth reading for the quotes.
