As much as I like the guy, I can only make the assumption that the bubonic plague has broken out among Portuguese strikers.

Seriously though, I hope he has an amazing tournament. And then someone pays us big bucks for him. I always have an ulterior motive for my nice comments.

Exactly what I was thinking. I hope he lights up the tournament, and some Italian or Spanish club come in with a 8 million Euro offer.

Pompey want to loan him next season as they can't afford to buy Lua Lua......
I hope to god for his sake someone from Spain or Italy comes in for him after seeing him score some goals for Portugal.

If it wasn't for defoe and Keane-O I'd be screaming for Postiga to get a chance up front, but as it is I can't say it would be terrible to see him off for a nice profit.

Whats wrong with the guy? Let's loan him out like Chelsea do with Forsell and get some confidence back in him. I still think he could come good, he's still young. Trouble is you guys want instant success, some players take longer to settle.

There is nothing wrong with him. He's great, its just we can't see him forcing himself past KAK and Defoe. We think he's too good to rot in the reserves a-la Rebrov, therefore we'd like to see him sold for his own benefit and the clubs. If Defoe wasn't around I'd be screaming for Postiga's inclusion. He's quality.

I'm of a mixed mind about Postiga. When we signed him before the season I was very excited, but then nothing materialized. I guess when Hoddle got sacked that kinda did it in for Postiga. In the few matches he played he never seemed to find his confidence. I'd still like to see him get a shot, but I agree that he probably won't get past Keane and Defoe. I can't remember exactly what we paid for him (I think it was around 6 mil), so I'd hate to see that money wasting away on the bench. Knowing our luck he will impress at the Euros get sold to a Spanish or Italian club and then go on to score 25 goals next year.

Speaking of ones that got away...What about Morientes? Last off season there was a lot of specualtion about him coming to Spurs. He gets loaned to Monaco, has a dream season, and now theres talk about him joining Chelski. Just our luck...

Hoddle was asked about this on TV a few weeks back, and he intimated that the deal for Morientes was all set up and he was ready to sign, but the club didn't go through with it.
