I rarely get excited about a TV show but I'm really looking forward to Mad Men on Sunday.

Strong opener with, to put it mildly, a very intriguing preview of next week.

The Pete/Ken storyline was fantastic. Also, Pete dancing:

I'm hoping to see more Peggy next week.
Finally, if you're into all the artwork, period references and advertising on the show, you must, must read Mad Men Footnotes (http://madmenfootnotes.com/). It's great stuff.

Now we know how Dick Whitman (Don Draper's true identity) got his first name.

Huh? What?
And did anyone else get those weird transitions into the commercials?

Yes, there were a whole bunch of scenes that didn't really end; they just stopped, including at the very end. Not something I'm used to with this show, and not an improvement IMO.

I guess Betty's drinking and smoking for two?
Always great to see Don Draper go all, "Here's what you're going to do...", and makes it happen.
Also, it's fascinating and frustrating to see Peggy embrace her dark side.

It always makes me laugh to see all the drinking and smoking, and realize that this was the norm back in the day. Amazing that my generation survived childbirth.

I liked the episode, although it was a bit nervewracking seeing Peggy sing.
Too bad Kinsey didn't save Penn Station, opinions on that building never changed in nearly 50 years.

No lie - truly one of the great casualties of "urban renewal"

Speaking of Penn Station, the Footnotes of Mad Men guy posted at the Awl: http://www.theawl.com/2009/08/the-footnotes-of-mad-men-episode-302-with-ada-louise-huxtable-patio-diet-pepsi-and-yetta-wallenda
So yeah, Pepsi actually named its diet drink "Patio".

So do you guys think Season 3 will include the November 23rd wedding of Roger's daughter in the form of the season finale or will Weiner save it for Season 4?

Or will the wedding be affected (postponed?) by the eventual assassination of JFK the day before?
