Until it's confirmed by either Arsenal or Tomas, there's no reason to freak out. Okay, that's not ENTIRELY true... but there's real reason to hold out hope that it's not true.
Dear Wenger,
Can we please get at least ONE signing by the end of the week?

Fernandez in demand (http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11670_5475951,00.html)
Wow, I thought we were linked with everyone by now but I think this one is new: Leandro Fernandez
Fernandez played in yesterday's qualifying round lose to Celtic so he would be cup tied for the CL. However he did not impress me.
I believe Rosicky's injury is on the other leg, not the one which caused him to miss 18 months.
Chakuma should tell his club that either take the money now or if a bid is made later, he'll reject the personal terms and walk for free. Yeah he might burn a bridge or two, but that might be what it takes to get through to their president.
Some thoughts on the young guns going out on loan.

That is disappointing, for that price Arsenal should have jumped all over that.

Although I was never a Huntelaar for Arsenal fan, it makes little sense picking up Chamakh for 3-4m less than Huntelaar.

Generally true however, I wouldn't be surprised at all if the ManCity defense continues to struggle. From the bits I watched and match reports, Adebayor was uneven as we've seen in the past but did get an assist. Toure had a pretty mixed game. He was caught out (with others) for Rangers second and had a bad giveaway that should have been another goal against. He did have a nice run forward and was better than the other defenders but I still see them trying to win games 3-2, 4-3 all season unless they get in some quality defenders.

Vieira deal not close - Wenger (http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/06082009/63/vieira-deal-close-wenger.html)
"Not at the moment, no," said Wenger, when asked if they were close to completing a deal from Vieira.
"We can still make do with one or two players more. One could be in the defensive areas, and one in the attacking areas."

Sounds like we're waiting until deadline day.

Normally deadline day wouldn't be a big problem for me; at least we're getting players. But this year we have a hard start of the season. I'd rather not find out how badly we need the players when we play ManU.

So apparently Wenger confirmed that Rosicky is out for 6 weeks. So looks like a late September return. Hopefully this doesn't turn into another season where Rosicky is perpetually 6 weeks out.

Wel maybe this is why Wenger said he is most likely going to buy 1 attacking and one defensive player. I dont think he was going to get an attacking player so much until Rosicky went down. I think he now knows that he is definitely going to have to get someone else to keep depth.

Affelay may be a good pickup now with Rosicky injured, as he can play both sides of midfield. He is comfortable with the 4-3-3. He is 23, so in our preferred age range. And has experience playing with Van Persie in the national team set up.
Not a defensive pick up, but I don't think he would be bad for depth. Certainly understands the two way responsibilities which come in a 4-3-3.

"One offensive and one defensive signing?" ughh...looks like a DM might be out of the question. Can't say I'm suprised though..

Some direct quotes from Arsene press confrence
On signings; "one or two like ive said many times. One could be in the defensive areas and one could be in the attacking areas".
Would Brede Hangeland from Fulham interest you at all? "We had a look at him yes"
Is he the kind of player youd like to bring in then?
"Its always difficult to say you know, we have not contacted Fulham, we have not contacted Hangeland we have not made our choice on him or anybody else so at the moment its difficult to talk about names".
Patrick Vieira, might he be on his way back to The Emirates? "not at the moment no".
He also looked very downbeat and tired during the questions especialy when answering questions about Rosicky.
