Setanta carries the programming rights in the United States and sublicenses it to cable and digital sattelite system companies. The packages they offer are sold as "Pay Per View" broadcasts which can be purchased by anyone with a dish or cable box including bars and pubs. And with that said, I'm from California so I have no idea what the situation is in the Rochester area.

The problem is the pubs and bars still have to charge 20 a head for the matches. So it would cheaper, I would think, to get three or four friends together for each match or just get the whole package and pay 50 each.

If the pubs are going to charge $20 a match your better off buying the entire package for your house. You get every game for $179. That comes out to less that $6 a game. So it really is a good deal. Of course I rather not pay at all, but what are you gonna do.
