YouTube - Jack Wilshere Wonder Goal

Me thinks we have something really special.
I know I am a homer, but this kid has a brash arrogance that I cannot wait to see develop.
By all means, discuss~~

He sure looked good this weekend. And Arsene is going to be getting a lot of pressure to play him so he can be ready for WC10.

He is a badass. I've always been impressed how he can shield the ball and seem carry big defenders on his back. But he's still young and i worry about the pressure and the hype. Wenger is right to bring him along slow. That said, he needs to get some real playing time this year both in the Carling Cup and as a sub in some League and European games.

He seems much more like a continental type player

Seriously - I just meant I like the way he can come in from wide positions, and actually hold the ball, and then slot the pass or shoot

He's actually the first player to remind me of Bergkamp

It's kinda funny that people are already talking about the World Cup when the kid only has one League appearance under his belt.

His vision's superb, with the proper nurturing he can be special.

i keep hearing that he is most suited for the middle of the park, but love how he just glides past people on the wing. he has all the tricks, finesse, and close touch dribbles.
luckily we have plenty of games so he will definitely see the pitch this year.

I think he should be super sub this upcomming season then he should be ready for regular first time football after the World Cup.

I agree...

he has a lot of maturity to his game...

its weird to say this, but if he wasnt English I would want him to get a lot more matches... since he is, I am kind of apprehensive about it... mostly because of how the English media are...

YouTube - great Wilshere Skills

reminds me of a young left-sided Argentine i saw a few years back in the U-21 World Cup..

i know i'm a homer but seeing him play makes me think that this kid as all the potential to be a world star in 2-3 years time

it will just be interesting to see where he fits in Wenger's pecking order...theres Arshavin, Rosicky, Walcott, Nasri, Diaby, Eboue, Traore, Gibbs who can all play out there on the left.

his rise to stardom may mean that we have to sell Diaby, Eboue, or Traore to give this kid a chance. he is going to be a star and he has so much more upside than the trio just mentioned

What are the chances he gets an England cap before a League start?

He is good enough for WC 2010 but not the U-21 and U-19 Euros??

IMO its a glaring hole in the English coaching youth set up's. They always ignore the more technical players and prefer to bring on the direct football that gets you no where long term.

Substitute American in that post and you have the same problem at the US youth level.
