What is Chelsea's problem? They've got the deepest pockets in the EPL, they have one of the best midfielders who WANTS TO STAY with the club. Yet they refuse to offer him a deal on par with Veron or Duffer. If he's not worth 15 million for five years he needs to move on to a club that will not take him for granted.

Roman should sack Peter Kenyon and bring back Ken Bates. Then Lampard and Ranieri will stay. I will never be able to understand why Kenyon (who loves Manu) was chosen over Bates (who loves Chelsea). If it was to bring in players, we shouldn't try to convince players, who don't want to come here unless they are paid large amounts, to come. Lampard and Ranieri must stay.

What? Neither of the above makes sense.
We're negotiating with Lampard - he's signed already. He just wants more money. No boss can survive long if he gives his employees money every time they ask. As for Ken Bates........um, no.

It's all his agent thats making the noise - not the player himself.
Remember, his agent has his own agenda in all this "renewed deal" business, he gets a substancial cut of it!
I highly doubt that Lampard will go anywhere, and i also highly doubt he'll get the money that Veron and Crespo were on.
More like he'll end up at or around the £70,000 pw that Duff is on.
Middle ground for all involved.
