3-1 good guys. 2 extra time goals. I was hoping we could replicate the 23-0 friendly win a few days earlier

We deserved to win I think, W*chniarek had a goal unfairly disallowed. We had great chances but Buchholz was tremendous in net.

Transfermarkt says that Bryan Arguez is training with Belgian side RSC Charleroi. They're also saying that we're closing in on former Marseille center back Renato Civelli on a free transfer and Ajax defensive midfielder Evander Sno on loan.

Hertha have signed Swedish centerback Rasmus Bengtsson from Swedish side Trelleborgs FC. The 23 year old cost us 400.000 euros. He was a big member of Sweden's U-21 side and has already played 4 times for the Swedish A National Team. The transfer probably means we won't be buying Renato Civelli.

Another midfielder and/or striker will do for me. I just hope these cheap signings can replace the key players that have left, it seems thats the only way Hertha can compete this year.

We have Brondby in our Europa League tie. Guess we're not going to conquer Europe :D

Pretty tough tie though. Probably the toughest we could have gotten. And the last time we played a Danish side, OB Odense knocked us out at (*roughly*) the same round. Will be very interesting.

Spieltag 1: Hertha 1-0 Hannover

Really unlucky by Hannover, dominated the game I felt and had great opportunities, just no shooting boots. Hanke's effort in injury time pretty much summed up their afternoon. We got lucky when Djakpa couldn't clear and Kacar was able to poke through the legs of Enke. We need to improve. W*chniarek was poor today, as was Pisczcek and Nicu. Kacar was our MOTM, was everywhere and created good chances.

I'll be in Berlin the last weekend of the month. What is the best way to get tickets to the match?

In the East there are a lot of Werder fans. The Olympia stadium will shine, it will be painted green-white. :p

TOLH is back in Japan

To find out that Chermiti was loaned out to Al-Ittihad for a year. Chermiti said that he was using this opportunity to gain match practice. I just hope that we have another striker lined up, because currently, we only have 3.5 (Pisczcek might play there, but I'd rather he not.)

So pick one out of 5 strikers.

Maxi Lopez
Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink
Kris Boyd
Victor Obinna
Andrey Voronin

I pick Vennegoor of Hesselink actually! :o

Kicker reports in its weekly print magazin that the chances to buy or rent Voronin are minimal even Voronin doesn't want to be rent.

Wouldn't want Triple H to come back anyways. He's getting on in age.

So you'd rather have what you've got now??

I wish you could have heard Dieter Hoeness on "Sky 90" slamming Hertha management for making excuses instead of doing something to help the team.

I think Hoeness is right. After the loss in Bochum, Favre was asked about the problems and he came with the same shit. "We didn't have the money to strengthen as much as some other clubs did."

And you know something? That might be right.

But BOCHUM wasn't one of those clubs!!!

I think your management is going to "excuse" your club out of Europe and all the way back to mid-table.....

As much as you guys chanted against Dieter Hoeness, he wasn't the problem......

I expect them to present a new striker between Friday and Monday.
I think they have candidates in different price classes and tomorrows
Euro league quali league match will determine which player can be signed.

We definitely do need a striker.

But then why loan out Chermiti? I think he's a player who could help us and give us an extra dimension (pace, which we sorely lack), but we loaned him out. I don't understand that. Now we're looking for a target striker, but we're looking at the wrong ones I think (Vennegoor of Hesselink being chief among them).

Anyways I can definitely see us being dragged down to a relegation fight. Much will depend on how much scoring the midfield will do, because Wichniarek and Domo are currently the only 2 strikers, and they aren't on form. So far Kacar has been quite good at getting goals, but we do need strikers who can get goals, and W*chniarek hasn't gone squadoosh so far.

Agreed.

Rather, at times, I feel he was an asset.

hertha 0-1 down to brondby.

is there anything more predictable in german football than hertha's performances in the uefa cup?

udo lattek's monologues come close, i'd say.
