I'm not aware of that. I've never heard a word changing from describing someone's identity accurately to becoming a racist slur simply by changing inflection of the word.

Being an ass isn't helping the situation. You are the first person I have ever heard make this claim. IMO, people that use that pronunciation tend to be rednecks but that doesn't make the pronunciation racist.

Comparing it to explicit racial slurs seems extreme at the very least.
