View Full Version : WE7 replay glitches... anyone else had this problem?

I saved the replay of a game-winning International League goal just a few minutes ago, and now it seems that some of the players involved have swapped positions. In the 84th minute, Rivaldo steals the ball from a defender somewhere around the midfield line, takes it down the right center, and passes to Elber, who beats Buffon to his right for a 1-0 road win. When I replayed the goal later, it was Elber who made the pass, and Ronaldinho who scores. Being almost certain that it was Rivaldo who stole the ball and Elber who scored, I went back to check, and the Replay Gallery menu does indeed list Elber with the goal and Rivaldo with the assist. Replayed the goal again, and it's still Elber to Ronaldinho. The Team Information screen gives Elber credit for two goals, and Rivaldo credit for three assists. My paper records (yeah, I spend FAR too much time playing this game) confirm this. So it looks like all the documentation is accurate, but the replay isn't. What gives?

I'm wondering if the inclusion of created players affects the replay system. Elber is a base copy (no modifications to attributes- just a straight copy from the Bayern Munich player) "called up" to the Selecao. I also added Roque Junior the same way. Has anyone else had this to happen, with players mysteriously changing places in a saved replay?

FWIW:
1. I hadn't turned the game off when I watched the replay (I watched it right after the match).

2. I had just subbed Rivaldo out for Adriano, but Adriano is not on the pitch in the replay, nor should he be- the sub hadn't taken place yet because I made it while Marcos was holding the ball a few minutes before the goal. Adriano came on at the ensuing kickoff.

3. I don't know if any other players are out of place, because I wasn't paying that much attention. They could be, tho.

4. All the other replays are accurate, but none of them involve created players.

I havn't noticed the problem in this game but it used to happen in other sports games I've played.

But one thing - why are you keeping paper records? do you also keep the time on your own watch? :)

I wanted to keep stats of how my goals are being scored and allowed, and when. For instance, if I'm giving up more goals off crosses to headers, then I think about getting taller defenders with jumping ability. I've already moved Roberto Carlos to left mid rather than have him at left back, since his height poses a problem against taller forwards on crosses, and I consider him more useful as a midfielder anyway. He was on my WE6 Napoli (created from Fiorentina) team, and that's where I played him then. All this is really more applicable in a club ball league (I started doing this in WE6 ML), since my choices in International League are limited, but you get the picture. If the goals are being scored late, I think about replacing defenders and d-mids to give the back more energy. The stamina bars don't tell the whole story. If early, I play a more defensive game early. Also, I need to see how many BS goals the CPU scores on me (every football game has those). Not that I can do anything about it, but it helps me to know how I'm playing as opposed to the scoreline alone. If I lose on a late goal because my defender and the opposing striker went up for the ball and my defender fell down, leaving the striker a clear path to the goal (this happened in a 4-1 win over England in Week 5 that should have been a clean sheet), I don't necessarily perceive it as a weakness in my game that needs more work. I guess the GK could have stopped the shot, but Marcos is Marcos, so I'm better off maintaining possession. I wish they had the vastly underrated Taffarel in the game, but he's retired, I think.

do you also keep the time on your own watch? :)

No. That would serve no purpose. :)

:) You're just jealous because I thought of it first. Whatever it takes to win...

personally i would keep R. Carlos at right back or left back because he is speedy and has a good cross. He's usually one of the first players I try to pick up in the master league when I get some cash.

i used to keep track of all the goals my players scored in non-league matches so i could add them to the totals but then I realized that I didn't care enough. One thing that would be cool is if WE8 let's you select a player and see his stats for every year and every competition.

In NBA 2k3 for example if you click on Tim Duncan (for example) you can see his career stats including the seasons played in the virtual world.

I still havn't noticed the replay glitch yet though I'm sure it'll happen sooner or later.
