I have been watching my local MLS team and then I saw a great game in the first leg of the Champions league Semifinal. The match made me LOVE soccer even more.

I have been watching my local MLS team and then I saw a great game in the first leg of the Champions league Semifinal. The match made me LOVE soccer even more.
You saw the Arsenal-Chelsea Champions League tie. I guess I can see how you got confused. :D
My time online is limited so I'll let someone else explain in more detail but basically EPL involves only English clubs while Champions' League includes sides throughout Europe. Luck of the draw paired the two English teams together. A look through at recent history shows quite a few ties involving all-Italian and all-Spanish matchups as well.

What is the difference between EPL and Champions League?

The EPL is just English teams. The Champions League is teams from throughout Europe. It's called the Champions League because it used to be only league champions could qualify, but now they let as low as 4th place teams into it. They ought to change the name to the Elite League or something like that, but CL is too well known a brand name.
