David Platt is sacked as coach of the U-21s and about time too. He had one of the most talented U21 squads we've ever had and yet went from one failure to another. He's a poor manager who should never have got this chance.

It's about fecking time. He was awful, tactically dreadful, ridiculous squad selections and did nothing to give the youngsters the right kind of experience and preparation for the senior team.

Hopefully they'll sort it out and appoint someone competent this time.

He started off well enough, but as time went by, he sucked. I don't think the fact he kept losing players to the senior side helped him out much either.

Every U-21 coach has to cope with that! That was no excuse for a lot of the things he did badly.

Just when you think they have come to their senses they go and appoint someone like howard wilkinson.
