Brazilian veteran Djalminha, frustrated by his limited first-team chances at Deportivo, will play on loan with Austria Vienna until the end of the season. Albert Luque's arrival in Galicia forced Djalminha out of the club, with his chances to play getting thinner and thinner.

Javier Irureta's bad day continued with a frustrating Spanish Cup draw, which paired Deportivo with Canary Islands outfit Corralejo. "The people who came with the current Copa del Rey format are insane", Irureta uttered. "They have no respect for teams who are trying to make a decent run in Europe. Factors like distance and travel constraints should be taken into account but they aren't", he regretted.
Meanwhile Real will have to make a short trip to the outskirts of Madrid to face minnows Sanse.

In two away games, Makaay has scored 5 goals. If he's not Europe's Footballer of the week, nobody is.
