Kolo Toure is off to Man City (confirmed).
Not a bad signing actually.

Reports indicate that City have just signed Kolo Toure. They are making some smart signings (Gareth Barry, Toure) Along with their obviously flashy ones.
This team is going to be very dangerous. Their defense is quite good now. How does everyone feel about this? They certainly are favored over Arsenal now no?

If they land Lescott then I think they may be a legitimate threat to Arsenal's 4th spot if they aren't already.
They clearly have the players to challenge for 4th, so it's all up to Hughes to get the team to gel. This will be the season on which his future will be judged.

They already had an OK defence....it's not even better with someone like Toure on the team, and especially with Lescott on the way.

Toure hasn't exactly been the same player since he returned from the ACN. Plus I don't think Wenger would've let Toure go so easily but it explains the recent signing they made.

Anyone know why both Toni and Ribbery arent playing today for Bayern? Are they actually injured or just "injured" because they might need to get an a play to Italy and or Spain respectively?

Ronaldinho looks like he just doesnt give a ******** anymore. Altintop (sic) beats past Pirlo and Pirlo falls over and watches the rest of the play from the pitch. No thanks on this dude for a VARIETY of reasons. Impressed with Gomez and of course Lahm. I think Milan's only shot on goal came from.....Zambrotta. Milan are in a world of hurt if they dont buy. Few more minutes left in the first half.

yes Toure makes them better and if they sign Lescott its an upgrade but I still dont consider them one of the better defences in the League, despite who is in goal for them

fyi
Citeh had the 11th best defensive record in the League last season allowing 50 goals.
Man Utd 24
Chelsesa 24
the Scum 27
Fulham 34
Le Arse 37
Everton 37
Spurs 45
West Ham 45
Wigan 45
Villa 48
all had better records.
Although Citeh were the 5th best scoring team last season with 58 goals, yet they still spent bundles up front....

Schweinstiger (sic) waltzes in for a goal and then Pirlo scores from a freekick which the Bayern keeper should have had with one hand tied behind his back. 2-1 still to Bayern.

They are showing the replay of the 3-1 goal and then Bayern have the temerity to score again during said replay making it 4-1. God knows where the Milan defense was for the last one.

I agree and I would not discount Everton from the fight yet for 4th/5th, and Arse had a good spring run without much input from Adebayor anyway, and several injury issues, so I still make them the favorite. If Liverpool lose Alonso and Mash, they may struggle a bit more, and we still need to prove ourselves without Guus, especially in protecting the home again and getting less draws as well as delivering against the top 4. To make you happy I think O'Neill will have the hardest time maintaining position.

Stoch played for Twente tonight in the CL qualifiers. Should have had a penalty apparently. Will try and find highlights when they are up and get a report on how he did from someone.

I am simply not believing in City yet. Toure has not been a top defender in the Prem for a while now. Wenger knows what he's doing IMO. I'm not sure myself of the Vermaelen signing but they've got a fair amount of $$$ for a player like Toure. I'm not sure if some just want to see Arsenal fall out of the top 4 that badly, but everyone should be rooting for Citeh to fail. It's one thing taking a Champions League squad and pushing it to the next level like what happened at Chelsea. It's another thing altogether throwing billions around in an attempt to transform a truly shit team that's greatest recent accomplishment was signing Robinho:rolleyes:

I wont believe either until I see it on the field.
I saw on SSN last night that they are thinking of going 4-2-3-1 with Addebaoyor up top and Tevez sitting on the bench.
Tevez on the bench caused internal problems last year for Man U, so who says it cant happen this year, with a team that doesnt have the same star power to overcome it.
Teams can spend and spend, but just like Spurs were supposed to break into the top foru a few years ago, Im gonna wait on Man City just yet

I agree, I don't think the addition of Toure really makes their defense much better.
I still don't see them challenging for 4th yet. I think they'll be battling it out for a 6th spot....
