So the lads are on their way to Charleston, SC to play the Battery on Thursday night. We'll have a watch party at Cuatro's to see how we do. Beer and spirits are available for any celebrating or consoling that need be done!

Boys
I would love to make it but that is the final day of the Texas Bar Exam and I have some friends who intend to be completely shit faced way before 630. I have a feeling I will be joining them in the debauchery.
GO AZTEX!

Well. Not a bad replacement for Horst. I don't think his goal in PR has been topped by anyone for Goal of the Year.

Here Here.
And methinks that given his experience and his age, not to mention his strong ball smacking skills, he might just be the midfield general type we need to pick up.

I still expect to be pretty much roasted. We've been badly exposed for speed time and time again on a more normal width field.

FYI,
we are getting a large band of Thunderstroms rolling through. lots of rain and lightning. radar looks like it will move through aroun 8 or 9 so I would be surprised if the match start was delayed a bit.

How weird. There's a line of thunderstorms that rolled just south of us a little bit ago. Man, it's really moving if it's all the way over there already;)

Ah man, you mean we have to sit in the pub longer while waiting for the match, while drinking beer and eating nachos. Darnit.
Thanks for the update, Mikey.

Well, a disappointing result once again. Although the play was a bit better than what we've seen as of late, I think we can thank the inclement weather for slowing Charleston down. We had a decent crowd at Cuatro's (there were 5 of us), and we had to chuckle at the USLLive banner that spent the entire first half with Austin spelled "Auston", and the second half trying to get the score updated as well as the half.
I was pleased with the play of Jeff Harwell, Eddie Johnson and AJ Godbolt. Sam Reynolds I felt was pretty good in goal.
Unfortunately, we spent too much time crossing the ball from 10-15 yards outside of the box. This gave the Battery defense way too much time to set up and intercept the balls. Would've been good to see more penetration into the box, pulling defenders off of other players so that a pass to an open Aztex player.
Saturday is the next match against Carolina. Lets hope we can get some points out of that match, as we've passed "desperate" and are fast approaching "dire".

Totally agree with all of the above. Also, I was very disappointed by those two late free kicks that we had just outside the box. We totally wasted both of them. They were poor, poor free kicks :(

Please explain. What is this "rain" phenomenon of which you speak?

First of all, I am always in favor of getting more penetration in the box.;)
Secondly, I have been looking all year for any Aztex to step up and take a quality free kick. So far, no takers. Add that to the growing list of needs for our Aztex.

I just posted the match report for this match at the Chantico's Army website (http://www.chanticosarmy.com/cajoomla), along with the "Man of the Match" poll. The last part is less a match report than a position statement.
