A very interested document that I just came across on UEFA's web site:

http://www.uefa.com/newsfiles/171412.pdf

It seems to be a cross between our own ATR and "Additional Instructions" document--but tailored solely towards the more controversial aspects of officiating.

There are many similarities with USSF interpretations (some, such as the body language instruction regarding PI, appear to be adopted from USSF). However, there are several interesting differences. Most notably (and interesting, considering our recent discussions), UEFA has adopted a 6 bullet checklist for DOGSO, as opposed to our "4 D's"--quite similar, but it includes a "possibility to control the ball" clause. Even more interesting to me is that UEFA spells out criteria for fouls that "stop a promising attack"; in other words, a 'tactical foul' or 'UB.1.c' in USSF-language. To my knowledge, no such set standards exist in the US. We are merely taught to decide what a tactical foul is based on our own interpretations.

Also, the "Bleep Test" (I thought it was "Beep Test") is referenced towards the end of the document. UEFA states it can be used "in addition to" the Cooper Test (great!), but it is not yet ready to serve as the standard fitness test.

Now is this the "Bleep" Test, or the "Bleeping Test" I've been hearing so much about...?
