Like pancakes, all exciting at first, but by the end you're sick of it.

And then you're way too full for the rest of the day.

i thought if u play a game in the qualifying for the cl rounds u cant play for another team in the cl?

I believe if you play in the group stage with a team, you are cup tied like Arshavin. I believe Huntelar played with Ajax in the qualifying rounds and then was eligible for the knockout rounds with Real?

I think you're right. There's a distinction between pre-group rounds and the rest of the CL.

Someone is going to deserve a spanking if Man City beats us to 4th with 2 players we sold them leading the charge.

Basically. But on the flip side of things Wenger must be really certain about this year seeing that he sold them to City.

AW must have been certain they'd be whinging little girls all year if they didn't get transfered.

I'm still not concerned about Man City. They have a ton of new players and are overloaded at the striker position. Their midfield is extremely thin and their backline is dependent on a bunch of players that haven't shown that they have the class to truly compete for Top 4 spot.

Then again, if city get 4th and united 5th, that will be pretty hilarious.

If City get 4th at the expense of anyone besides Arsenal I will chuckle.

YouTube - Busta Rhymes - "Arab Money"

By the way did you know the chorus in this song is pure gobbledy gook? Not arabic at all.

But I really don't understand why we're selling Kolo. I thought Arsene's whole philosophy this offseason was that he wanted to keep his players? Now we're bunging off to the Middle Eastlands? And could we really not get more than 14 million from him? We're talking about stupid money rght now, we should be jacking them up for at least 20 million.

I just really don't like being in this mentality of a seller's club.

Well to be fair to Wenger I'm sure he meant that when he said it, but since then the conditions may have changed with those players and the offers are pretty good considering. Most importantly is the wages being offered, which wasn't known in January or May.

I think it's hard to label Arsenal a selling club, too, considering the only clubs we're losing players to are the few wealthiest in the world.

Arsene has a decent record of selling our guys when they are entering their downward curve and getting the most transfer value. Hasnt worked all the time of course, some players just suited us better than the teams they were sold to.

Ray Parlour said something interesting earlier, something like Kolo is 28 and hasnt been at his best the last couple of years and £16m was a great price. He was sure Arsene will replace him with someone with quality, the right side of 25 and for £6-7m less than what Toure will cost Citeh.

but what aw in his over-optimism may not realize is that strengthening city's backline could be a huge boost to a squad with a pretty potent midfield/offense and being that arsenal is considered the most vulnerable of the big 4, it could well mean that city beat us out for 4th resulting in what i would assume would be a devastating drop in revenue, renewed financial concern, and perhaps an exodus of players?

i don't think a lot of people have a problem with selling kolo if he wants to go, but perhaps selling him for 10m to someone else is better financially for us than selling him for 15m to city. that said, I think if aw gets a good, tall replacement for kolo, we'll easily have the strongest team we've had in years, and i don't expect us to be challenging united/liverpool/city/villa and everton for fourth.

There is nothing wrong with selling players for a price that is fair (to us). It is what you do after that counts. If we still sell Senderos and Eboue, thats over £50m we would have collected, and if the bulk of that goes back into the team in smart purchases - selling will have been the right decision.

Well, who knows, maybe Naldo is still on the way after all if toure goes.
