I am going to be moving to Richmond Virginia in mid July. Other than getting a chance to watch Rob Ukrop and the Richmond Kickers, I'd love to get my soccer fix with reffing matches down there. Any locals know how long the season lasts and if there are indoor facilities for the winter months?

From what I remember of the winters living on the Washington Beltway, you could be doing some games outside during the winter.

Talk with Sherm and Rich about getting the appropriate introductions to VA state staff who can help you contact the local assignors. IIRC, their leagues use referees that belong to local referee boards similar to the Mass. high school boards, so you may need to find out where to join.

Richmond is kind of far from the Beltway, I stick mostly to the DC/No. VA area myself, but our seasons usually start around Mid-March (Tournies) and end in Mid June. Fall Season Runs Labor Day (Tournies) to Thanksgiving. (Tournies)

The main assignor down there is Beth Hatchel. I have her email around somewhere and if you PM me I'll try and dig it up for you.
