Has anyone gotten this game yet? I picked it up for the Xbox, and the graphics are outstanding, but about every fourth time I run the game, during the actual matches, there's graphic slow-downs, and the game has actually frozen on me twice. Unprecedented in my console gaming experience (which isn't as nearly as extensive as my PC gaming experience- mostly limited to sports games)

Anyway, I like the chipshot feature and the better right-thumbstick skill move control than FIFA 04. And I really like that all UEFA national teams were included, though the lack of licensing for the Netherlands team is kind of annoying, as they're so prominent in European football.

I'm curious if you tried Winning Eleven soccer by Konami, widely regarded as the best soccer game by actual players around the world. It is amazing, and it makes EA's games look like kiddie play. Its only on PS2 until October, when it will debut on Xbox as well.

The Dutch do that to themselves by wanting to overcharge for the rights to thier underachiving little foreigner stealing team.

Is this based on the same engine as FIFA World Cup 2003 or the engine from FIFA 2004?

The Dutch Football Association (whatever it's called, sorry) doesn't allow their players to be used in games for whatever reason. It's all about money, though, I would think. It's a shame. Maybe they're still mad about not qualifying for the 2002 World Cup and are taking it out on us gamers. ;)

Winning Eleven doesn't even have real Dutch players either... for the same reason.

Also I have not seen this game anywhere...what stores carry it?

And are there international teams from other continents too? Or just Europe?

I bought mine at EB Games... you should also be able to find it at any major electronics retailer-- Circuit City, CompUSA, Best Buy, et al.

The game only includes European teams-- but it includes all of them that are part of UEFA, so you can choose whatever team you like and go through the qualification process. Either the "official" qualification, that the teams actually went through for Euro 2004, or you can randomize it.

On my PC the game was very blocky and had slow framerate. Could be cuz I had 4 bit torrent downloads going. The anouncers say exactly the same thing as they did in fifa 2004, so thats what they saved time on. The engine seems tweaked, but not much. This game tries to create the same atmosphere as they did in World Cup 2002, and doesn't quite do the same good job, but its good nontheless. Pretty good soccer game, I'll know more about it when I play it more then once though.

Not having the Netherlands (the KNVB) there in the video game really cheapens it for me, as that is the one team I am interested in playing. It's also strange to me that while UEFA licenses its name to this video game, it doesn't persuade the KNVB to do likewise.

That this is allowed to happen is really making me think twice about buying it ... or any future soccer video game.

Most people who say FIFA games are the best, and the UEFA Euro 2004 game does use the FIFA game engine, are fools as far as i'm concerned. It doesn't come close to the likes of Pro Evolution Soccer 3 (Winning Eleven 7, I believe? Maybe 8).

Good news is its the next in the series will appear on the XBox, at last! I'm keeping my fingers crossed for XBox Live features!

well.. i got this game about a month ago... and i thought it was a good game... it is basically a better version of fifa 2004... which i think is a lot better than 2003...

this game is worth your money if you like soocer titles and you enjoy the idea of national teams... however.. i wouldn't buy it, cuz it lacks the depth that fifa 2004 has... but i do like it better than winning eleven 8 ... however.. world soccer tour 05 (this is football) is better on the graphics point...

as far as winning eleven 8 is concerned.. i thought it was not a big improvement over winning eleven 7... it was just with updated rosters... so i was disappointed...

but euro 2004 is a decent game... i got all my games for ps2.. cuz i have always found them to be better than on my xbox or cpu... so i would recommend using that....

I don't understand this at all. WE8 isn't out yet and world tour soccer 2005 graphics aren't as good as FIFA or WE 7.

as far as winning eleven 8 is concerned.. i thought it was not a big improvement over winning eleven 7... it was just with updated rosters... so i was disappointed...

do you mean winning eleven 7 is not a big improvement over winning eleven 6? If so, I don't get it - we7 added a lot more skill moves, a revamped master league, tougher defenses and for the first time had real teams (albeit only a handful of italian clubs). Or do you mean WE8 is out in Asia already and you own it?

but euro 2004 is a decent game... i got all my games for ps2.. cuz i have always found them to be better than on my xbox or cpu... so i would recommend using that....

well splinter cell, enter the matrix and the max payne games are definately better on the xbox.

I must say I am puzzled by your entire post.

What's the last game anybody can remember where Holland was actually completely represented in full? I remember FIFA 99, where every KNVB player was represented properly..but ..anybody else remember a later game?

Winning Eleven is coming out for the Xbox? That's pretty cool, but I thought since it was from Konami that it was only going to be for Sony. I've heard from everybody that it is the best soccer game ever made, but since I've only got an Xbox, I've never been able to play it.
