"On Tuesday, July 21, 2009 the team at World Soccer Daily allowed Wprld Soccer Reader behind-the-scenes access to the day’s production. In order to get as accurate a picture of what a typical day is like for hosts Steven Cohen and Kenny Hassan, producer Rafael Gonzales, and assistant producer Rene Rodriguez, I tried to maintain minimal contact with Steven and Kenny, limiting my questions to Rafael and Rene for fear of altering what the show would have been were I not in attendance. -rf"

That's a nice puff piece, but it doesn't explain what's going on there.
They just lost all their free advertising that came with Steven's role on Fox. Also, they've lost all their blue chip advertisers, and have been limited to niche companies and one-off flights. The truth is their in big trouble financially.
Good luck to them - it doesn't look good for 2010.

Actually, they aren't in trouble at all, after the last few months they are better positioned than they were and revenues are up. They did lose a couple of sponsors, but most of them were due to the national financial situation. WSD had to adjust some of their focus from smaller grass roots companies, who they always want to support, to larger, more secure ones. There will be more as we get closer to the WC, and I'm sure some people will be surprised at who they are.
As for Fox, Steven almost left last year. He's not been happy with the way the show has gone, mostly shilling for the FSC content rather than focusing on the news of the game, and he wanted to devote more of his time to WSD and his family. FFF did give WSD a bit of free advertising, but you can only get so much from that well, so when FSC decided they wanted someone connected to the game on FFF, and Webster being already employed by FSC, it was a easy decision to say "thanks for the 5 years, seeya.
It was an amicable parting, even though I know a certain group is trying to claim all the credit. Someone make sure you tell them they had nothing to do with it, not that they'll beleive you.

If this is the only change that FFF makes this year then they will continue to dive. The texts are more annoying than the bottom scoreline on ESPN/2. Those pics heading into the break seem to last forever.
My guess is that the demographic for the show will become much younger and less experienced in the game.

good luck to Webster for having to work with Wynalda. I'll be counting the number of times he'll mention the "When I was playing..." bit. It'll be my new FFF drinking game!!

Probably true and also kind of ironic that as the amount of people following football and the level of understanding of the sport has continued to grow in this country that the networks that broadcast the game consistently feel the need to dumb the sport down.
