Sky is reporting that Bradford has told all of their players they can leave this summer. They've been relegated to Division Two and were already near financial crisis before the relgation.

How does this look for Bradford City's future? To me, unless someone with a lot of cash comes out fo the woodwork soon, they very well may not be playing div 2 next year because they won't be in existance.

Really hope they pull themsleves out of it, though I doubt it is at the forefront of their thoughts today.

For anyone interested go to www.bcst.co.uk where you can make a donation to help Bradford's survival. At times like this, fans need to pull together. Just because some git of a speculator screws a club up, doesn't mean the fans should suffer. Do y'all agree?

Having seen administration ourselves, I am thankful that Port Vale came back from the dead.

I'm live twenty miles from Bradford and a couple of years back I went to Bradford vs Reading in the League Cup. I was in a party who were guests of the match sponsors and got to meet the then chairman Geoffrey Richmond when the sponsors man of the match awards we handed out after the game. I have never met such an arrogant, self centred man like him. He was unaware of who was actually sponsoring the match and treated his guests and his own players with utter contempt. If he ran the football club along the same lines it's not surprising they are in so much trouble. A few weeks back he was declared bankrupt himself after being part of the consortium who rescued Leeds United. The man has brought misery to thousands.

It is truly sad to see the slow decline of some of the top football clubs in Yorkshire. Leeds relegated and in trouble, Wednesday and Barnsley languishing in the Second Division and now Bradford has been relegated and they are in dire straits.

Sheffield United on the other hand... they failed to make the play-offs, and I couldn't be more pleased.

Yes, and if you recall he single-handedly destroyed Bradford's only chance of retaining their Premiership status when he decided he knew best what sort of players to bestow upon Paul Jewell during the 2000 close-season.

To think about the money wasted on such obviously past-it or second-rate players at that time... what a horror-show.

I'd hardly call Barnsley or Bradford "top clubs", in spite of their momentary perches upon the top-flight. By that measure Swindon Town are a "top club". Or, MK Dons. Or, West Brom. ;)

As for the Blades' play-off failure... what's it to you?

Well by "top" I was thinking about club support rather than performance. Leeds is by far the top club in Yorkshire both in terms of fans and past performance, but all the other clubs I mentioned can claim thousands of supporters.

West Brom fans hate Sheff Utd for their dirty antics against the Albion a few years ago. Google "Battle of Bramall Lane" to see what I mean. Most of the players involved have since left the club, but the man widely believed to be the architect of the mayhem is Neil Warnock, who remains their manager.

Ah that's right... I'd forgotten all about that particular debacle. Still, hasn't made a bit of difference in the end as you went up and they failed; and this season, the Blades seem to have gone through a slow season-long decline, whereas save the season-end, West Brom went from strength to strength...

Good luck next season, I fear you'll need it yet again.
