Most beautiful goal has to be Maradona's 2nd goal in the '86 world cup against England. Watched it again on UEFA site, and concluded the guy is from another planet.
The HoG goal is runners up. The fact that he was so short, and that the referee didn't see anything wrong was amazing. It was fun :)

David Ginola v. Barnsley 99 FA Cup 5th round or Glenn Hoddle can't remember who against. Hoddle receives the ball in the corner of the 18 yard box, Cruyff turns one player and then looks as if he is about to cross and instead dinks the ball into the top corner. Supreme talent.

Most overrated goal in history. Watch the England defenders stab one after the other; they made the decisions for him. Personally, I think both his goals against Belgium were better.

My favorite has got the be Van Basten against Russia in the '88 Euro final. He was way out towards the corner, it it cleanly, right in over the keeper far post. Maybe he didn't mean it, but the result was pure magic. A great strike in a final; what more can anyone ask?

Jezus, sweet lord of mine, you gave this man a real talent!! :eek:Have had this goal on my computer for a while now. What I thought was great about it was how effortlessly he held off/pushed over the defender. I don't mean that as implying he fouled the guy, just that its a great example of good upper body strength helping you score.

Great?! Hardly! More like insane, bordering on bizarre! But ultimately beautiful.

unlike some other forums, bigsoccer does not have a list of smilies you can actually choose from. to learn to use them when you see someone post a smilie just quote them and see how they wrote them.

Carlos Alberto's fourth goal for Brazil in the 1970 World Cup Final. What a way to sum up that tournament. The captain of the greatest team ever completing the rout. It was poetry in motion.....

What a great goal. I love how he picked his spot to shoot before he got the ball.

Watch the final replay closely, he flicks it past Dabizas and as he's spinning he looks up at the goal, then finishes the spin, holds off the defender, and puts it away without looking up again.

Unreal class by my all time favourite player. Thank you for posting this.
