That's more like it lads, the pace of these threads was far too slow. A new thread very couple of days is a good sign that we're back on form.

Well with the news about NAsri(http://www.arsenal.com/news/news-archive/nasri-fractures-leg) do we go for a cheap replacement winger, dm, and/or forward or just dm and forward?

IMO, I don't think we need a Nasri replacement but we do need a midfield replacement. What I mean by that is we don't necessarily need an attacking wing type player. But we definitely need to bring in another midfielder for depth. Hopefully this Matuidi news is legit, not that I have any clue how good he is.

i think if we were going for Matuidi we would have already gotten him. I still dont see AW bringing anyone in in the transfer window.

We go for what we need and that is a DM and possibly a forward. I can see us playing a 4-3-3 formation this year. RVP-Dudu-Shava supported by a DM Fab and Rosicky.

We needed a wide player prior to his injury (Walcott is a liability in a 4-4-2), so we definately need one now. It was one thing counting on Rosicky when we still had Nasri to fall back on, its quite another now that there is no starting quality option beyond him and Arshavin.

Attacking mid is where we suffer the most injuries, and chances are that one of Arshavin and Rosicky will be out before Nasri is back - we absolutely have to sign someone for that spot.

Alex Hleb anyone?

If the Inter deal fell through, I'd consider getting him back - for the right price.

The Nasri news thoroughly sucks, the official "Welcome to the New Season" moment.

I think it may be our best bet...

A. He is now humble and knows leaving Arsenal was a terrible mistake.

B. He knows the system and how to play with most of our players.

If the Inter deal fell through, I'd consider getting him back - for the right price.

Why? We closed on Adebayor less than a week ago.

Firstly AW said he wanted any transfers wrapped up by preseason, secondly he's talking the talk about us using our internal players (the same talk last summer when we didnt get a dmid). Lastly Song and Denilson developed another year. Im pretty sure AW is satisfied with using them alongside Cesc even moreso now than before.

The fee for Matuidi would not be so high, I think, to be contingent on selling Adebayor.

The fee was mentioned to be in the region of 2-5m. I think he is entering the last year of his contract this season, and St. Etienne already signed a replacement in Gelson Fernandes for 1.7m

I don't know if he has any intention of bringing in another player but what Wenger says publicly means absolutely nothing to me.
