So with City grabbing kolo who will Arsenal buy? Please don't tell me we will no go from 'Senderos will have to decide his future' to 'he will now be an integral part of this team' .

I believe we have a winner.

So get rid of Kolo, who imo is a beast in our defence despite some blips in his last years form. Also lets also take into account the fact that Gallas is also getting older and will be leaving at the end of next season. I don't know, but if we do, it will just show that we're desperate for some cash and the board need to rethink their policy and push Koreonke (spelling?) to bid for the team and change some of the spending structure.

Petite - Vieira
Edu - Vieira
Gilberto - Vieira
Gilberto - Cesc
Flamini - Cesc
Denilson - Cesc

Like I said, you can call it DM or whatever but one guy is asked to hang back more.

Do you want to compare the merits of a DM in a 4-4-2 vs a 4-5-1 ??

You forgot the Romford Pele!

If we sell Kolo as well, then Wenger has close to 40 million in the bank to spend from sales alone.

There is no way Sahko from PSG is out of our "price" range now. If we were off by a couple mill before, we shouldn't be anymore? and QUALITY DM PLZ.

I guess the London housing market hasn't bottomed out yet :D

If kolo leaves, that would be the last of the invincibles :(. I guess its time to move on from our past achivements and look forward to new ones.

So if kolo does go, we'd need a replacement for him.

Hangeland, Sakho, Zapata even.

Who would you want?

Who would you want?

1) Sakho - Young and proven. Not in the EPL but still. League 1 and having already been given a captaincy role he'd be solid.
2) Hangeland - Mid-age and proven in EPL.
3) Zapata - barely know anything about him.

Sakho would be a good addition, but not a replacement starter. It would have to be Gallas-Vermaleen. I don't care if has been given the armband by PSG (which I thought was a stupid move), he's not seasoned enough to start week in and week out in the prem.

there was a story in Gazetto Dello Sport that said that we are in for Vucinic... Roma are looking to sell... we are offering 17 million euros, they want 15 million plus Bendtner euros... we are saying no...

here is the story here

Couldn't agree more- with Kolo gone, Arsene will let Phil know that he is now the #3, with the likelihood of regular starts throughout the year. Frankly, With a depth chart of Gallas --> Vermaelen --> Senderos/Djourou, I'm pretty comfortable with our back four.

That said, it's still making me absolutely mental that Ade hasn't been replaced and that we are apparently no closer to signing a dmid that even Arsene recognizes we desperately need.

I really hope Arsene doesn't try to wait until the last second to make the last buy or two- With the sales of Ade, Kolo and Eboue, I truly hope we're not subjected to another year's worth of "I believe in my squad...so-and-so coming back is like a new signing". If Arsenal can't make decent signings with a potential 45m pounds in the bank, then one has to wonder if someone who is actually WILLING to spend that money needs to come in.

I think it's clear what's going on.

The money from the sales of Toure, Adebayor and Eboue will buy Michael Essien. :)

I doubt any of us have sacrificed nearly enough animals for this to happen. However if it is the will of the gods i will be thankful

I don't want to be the new old Chelsea. We've been down that path and we know where it leads. I'm fine with Gallas/Vermaelen/Senderos.

Buy another d-mid or winger.

Stijn Schaars (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stijn_Schaars)? I'm all for weakening AZ. They dominated the Eredivisie last season and had the best defense in the league. We just bought his midfield partner Demy de Zeeuw. I think the general consensus is that Schaars is the better of the two.

I'm sure Johan was over on the Ajax board groaning about that buy. :)

Here's something I never thought I'd write, but we can't lose Bendtner now. He's too important in the team's plans.

She was super stoked for us. You know Johan, always gushing about her admiration and respect for Ajax and it's transfer activities.

Yep. He could be a beast if he gets a bit more clinical.

If Kolo goes there I'm going.

to Man City????? Frack's sake, we deserve to drop out of the top 4 if we send him there.

Even though he's got 1 year left 15m would be cheap, he's worth 30m minimum and even at that we would now struggle to replace him. Ok, 15m to anyone else - but City are desperate for defense and that would give them a very strong spine.

I'd keep him for a year and that would give us time to find a replacement. How much does dropping out of the CL cost us? - 20m?
