I would have been all for selling Ade to bring someone else in (striker and dmid, or even just dmid) but its lookin like that wont happen. I really hope AW knows what he's doing.

Why, he didn't force this move, Citeh flashed big money in Wenger's face and he wisely took it. So Ade held out for more money last year after a breakout season, i can't really blame him.
"It's not personal, Sonny. It's strictly business"
He was a c*nt starting last summer and has been ever since. Selling him was the best thing to happen to this club for ages.
But now we must use that transfer money to get something.

Why would you expect much loyalty from Adebayor? He was only at the club for three years, and was criticized by the fans nearly the whole time. He's in it for the money, but so are alot of players, if not most.

Yeah, but they do have a responsibility to NOT constantly talk about going to other clubs and shit. It's obvious they're all in it for the money these days but they shouldn't talk about other teams and shit. "My future will be decided in the next few days DERRRRRRRRRR" Good riddance.

You mean the same way that Cesc is constantly talking about playing for Barca or Madrid?

Were you upset when Cesc did this?

Yes, but he came out the next day whether it was contrived or not (which it was) and said he was still an Arsenal player, and I can tell even though he will end up playing in Spain, that he does actually care to contribute to the success of the Arsenal where Adebayor couldn't care less.
And let's not suggest I'm saying Fabregas is the world's most loyal person of all time, but I wouldn't say he's been a c*nt quite yet.

Kind of a double standard, isn't it?

Its a pity this didnt happen as soon as the season ended. Who knows what might have been in the transfer market for us but on the up side there is a lot of time left to bring in players.
Just an example of players we might have been interested in signing if we had the money, Barry, Melo, Wenger also mentioned that he was watching Benzema.
Presuming Eduardo stays fit, we may not need to sign an out and out striker.

I wouldn't mind if we push Walcott upfront and buy another winger and a DM. Sell Diaby if needed, don't think he has it to be a consistent Arsenal player.

Nope. Cesc: usually good and puts forth effort for the club and has made a slip up or two. Adebayor: Constantly a piece of shit who never puts forth any effort because he thinks he's the shit now and could care less about the club.
Don't see how it's a double standard. If Cesc starts behaving like Adebayor, then f*ck him off too. But he hasn't, at least not to that extent.

You know, I have mixed emotions about this move, and I don't pretend to know who's really responsible for it. I mostly just hope we use some of the money to fix what I perceive as a dangerous hole in central midfield, one which most have "known" is there for a long time. I suspect somewhere along the line there was a mutual agreement that the situation just wasn't going to work anymore, and AW decided to pull the trigger when an acceptable offer came along. Either way, I'm not going to take it personally. It seems that ever since Vieira left and Bergkamp retired there hasn't really been anyone who represents the face of Arsenal. Any player to whom the fans might want to give their unreserved love could easily be gone in the next month. That's the way the game works now.
Anyway, Ade is a talented player, and I wish him well, but not against us, and not so well that we regret letting him go.
Oh, yeah, one more thing. I think those who complain that Cesc is held to a lower standard have a point. But there is one slight difference, in that he is constantly linked with either his boyhood club from whence we took him, or with the other biggest club in his homeland, which also happens to be one of the biggest in the world (if he would accept the description of Spain, rather than Catalunya, as his homeland). Neither Ade nor Hleb, the two who have been the objects of the most rancor (after Mr. Girls Allowed, a case with more overt tapping up) have any such inherent connection with the clubs they talked about wanting to go to. I think Cesc's roots might temper the reactions of some of the fans to his talk of other clubs.
