BS Cup rules thread

I like the idea of the rules in this cup. Is there going to be a limit on how many teams enter the cup? You cant really have loads of teams because of some teams not getting out of the national cup for a while

I've looked at the previous posts and have narrowed the major rules points down to these. Keep the original rules with the following exceptions.

Roster minimum. This numberf varies.
Max # of starters: 3 or 4.
Cup or normal rules. I think consensus has already shifted this to Cup because of increased attendance.
3 points for a win instead of 2, still 1 point for PKL.
Failure to schedule games will result in walkover. 3-0.
Frequent poster
Post lineup before start of Cup.
Dual commissioners
Rules tribunal to settle disputes.
Teams from same group can't meet in the quarters

Those seem to be it, anyone else have any suggestions? Once this cup is over, we can start making threads to vote on these new rules.

I want to repost what I said on the cup thread, about working the Quarters some way so that teams from the same division don't meet in the Quarters, like Dynamo and Riverhawks, and Scouser and Panatha this season. I believe it was Mark's idea originally.

The other thing I'd like to add is to keep the 4 team groups. This gives everyone 6 guaranteed games. This will also allow us to go up to 32 teams if need be.

Group play=6 games. Top 8 teams advance to elimination rounds. If less than 8 groups, we take the top #2 teams to fill out the 8.

How are we gonna group the teams into "pots" to rank them, for instance, how are we gonna decide which teams will be "1 seed"?
