Just found out that Sven has cancelled Zola testimonial by telling his Euro 2004 players he does not want them playing in it. Strange, the Keown testimonial which is only a day before he's allowed!

Its either one or the other and zola lost out...
the team is already facing a load of injuries before euro 2004 ,suppose it makes sense.

How about cancelling both? Seems even less likely to get injuries.

why cant he have it against a team without england players?
its no place for sven to cancell it if they are playing for chelsea as they are their players!

How many players get injured in testimonials? I ask that as a serious question. Are there historically stupid events in soccer testimonials, like Pete Rose slamming into that guy in the MLB All Star game and ending his career?

That guy was Ray Fosse, promised to be an Indians' great until Charlie Hustle destroyed him in an "exhibition".

i've never heard of a player getting injured in a testimonial. i think it's crap that sven has the power to cancel something that has nothing to do with him. why can't players tell him to piss off when he schedules his meaningless internationals at the end of the season?
