I wonder if ECS would consider planting small groups of members around the stadium. Obviously we don't want to completely destroy the Brougham end, but put a couple of ECS members singing their heads off throughout the stadium is definitely going to spread the noise beyond Brougham...

The problem with that Yoshou is that we would have now clue what the main group is doing at the time, we might be able to pick it up but I doubt it. I could make out the ECS at the Gold Cup match but only because the stadium was very quiet. In all honesty I believe the best bet is to consolidate as much of the ECS into the south end as possible, and let it spread that way.

If you will be at the semis come and join us if you don't already.

Yes that could help us know what is starting, but not the pace, or the rhythm. Believe me I was just one section over the from main ECS group at PGE for the open cup and getting the right rhythm took a bit when new chants started. Catching up was easy enough, but I could not imagine trying to do that at Qwest half a stadium away.

I love the enthusiasm though ;)

Well.. Some teams have big ole kettle drums for establishing the rhythm.

And we have a big ol drum :) we just have about 15k more people making noise to contend with than the other teams have.

And as always this is certainly not my call to make, as I am not a capo, just observations that I have made while at matches myself.

Just the first year. Every game has gotten better and more people in other sections have picked up chants. And there is groups of ECS member all over but as said it's difficult to pace correctly, even the Sounded clap clap clap is all over the place:p

That said the enthusiasm to create the best atmosphere is fantastic and I applaud you.

Here's a stupid question: If I'm on the side, over the tunnel, close to the South End but not actually on it, am I supposed to be doing "Se-AAAA-tle" or "SOUUUUn-ders"? I feel like it's a call-and-response with the ECS crowd -- they're doing the call and everyone else responds. But maybe I should be doing to the South End part since I'm at that end.

I have a freaking FOGHORN of a loud voice (much to Mrs. Fnarf's disgust -- "warn me when you're going to do that" she says) so I would appreciate putting my volume where it is most appreciated.

Where do you think your voice would be best used?

It needs to stay North South as much as possible. So as long as you aren't too far to the North you doing "Seattle" should be fine. Just synching up with ECS may be difficult, or it may not be.

Do what you want:-)
Oh, keep an eye on ECS if you can, if you see them start applauding in the air and cheering, than that signals the end. So you don't yell Seattle all by yourself, lol. that could be hard to see, and may not be clear since a lot of people point to the north after yelling Seattle.
