Having Dunnie on the field next season will mean we lose several games we should have won.

Well, I guess we'll see what happens. IF he plays the first few games of the season and continues his poor form I don't think Hughes will leave him on the field. Especially as most fans have been calling for his head for months now.

With all of the transfer rumour I saw this calculated move coming. Not happy with it, mind you, but is anyone really surprised Sparky did this? I know I am one of the few here that really hasn't made up my mind that he is the man we need, but he has made some fairly obvious, yet bad decisions over the course of his tenure and this, I believe, will show to be one of them. I have admired Dunne since he came to City from the Toffees, and still do. But he is not of the quality necessary to take us beyond mid-table filler. He would be a step up for Sunderland, and I think he would play his top level there. Along with some prudent purchases they could become that mid-table staple. He could even stay with us as depth cover. But captain? That is silly and wishfull at best. At this point Given, Ireland, or Barry would have more cause for the title (especially Stevie as I believe he has matured quite a lot and has shown his grit in reforming himself; give him a year or two with the same impact and work ethic and I could not imagine him not being captain). Strange and 'exciting' days in every way at City indeed.

Very well put, I agree 100%
